We moved into our place on 1/8/09. Our experience (as first time builders ) was a nervous one but truly, we had a great journey with these guys. They dont offer a great deal of information but if you ask the right questions , they are happy to oblige. We would ring our liason person at hermitage and ask what should we expect to happen this week. She would give us an approx time line for the next 2 weeks, and it always happened. Our site supervisor was also good. if were saw something we were not sure about, we would ring him and it got sorted straight away. We didnt hound them or become the obsesive clients, its such a fine line as we are all investing a lot of money and everyone fears the unknown. The workmanship by hermitage was very good. Dont ever expect perfect as this is not a perfect world. Based on our journey, we would recommed Inspired/Hermitage we love our house and its just as we expected to be. PS : Can't get Gary out of that theatre room!!!!!!!!!! Think he's glued to the chair! Good Luck everyone, Im sure you will all be fine Tina 25 years in the planning. I started this thread in May and we're only just starting our build. Our land was finally settled on November 22nd and our site scrape happened on Tuesday of this week. Since then we've had the electrical box installed and the plumbers are on site today. We're told we will have the slab down on either Monday or Tuesday. Not alot has changed since I started this thread but I'll keep it updated as the build progresses. Now..... Hope the build goes well Re: Our build thread - First home - Point Cook w/ Inspired Homes 19Jan 16, 2010 12:21 pm It's all happening! I just saw your plans for the first time GSK, I'm so impressed. It's got everything we love about our own house and more - the bar is a great idea, and the unique home theatre room is really well designed. Everything dovetails so well, you've managed to pack so much into a single story home! I can't wait to see how this progresses Re: Our build thread - First home - Point Cook w/ Inspired Homes 20Jan 16, 2010 6:04 pm It is amazing at how much we have fitted into a single story house. That said, we would have loved to have gone double story but as you're aware, everything adds up! We're both a big fan of the plans and with the slab booked in for next week, we're really looking forward to walking through the plan that we've been staring at for the past 7-8 months (I had the plan enlarged and put above the bed so I see it every morning when I wake up) Greg Our house thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=18335 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
