Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 23, 2009 7:04 pm Hi all, Just to throw it into the mix- does anyone know how H. does their contracts? one salesperson has told us that they will add in an allowance for things like carpets etc which we will get back at H/over cos they won't do. Some one else has told us that our site costs will be fixed after the soil test and anything not spent in this component, eg rock removal, we will also have credited back to us. But we have also been told that H. can quote us site costs but if it blows out after build has begun, its up to us to find the extra to cover it. Our slab has been quoted at $3500, but is this in addition to what is included in the base price of our house? At the moment we are very confused any want to prepare ourselves for tender in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty uneasy signing something and going into it if it is going to cost us much, much, more than we think. Hope this isn't too confusing, but would love to hear about other peoples experiences with this major builder and theyre contracts! THanks Building a H3nl3y Charleton- its a home, not a house. Hmmm, didn't know about that option. Our slab has been quoted at $3500, but is this in addition to what is included in the base price of our house? Yup, that sounds right. I got back about 3.5K at handover due to provisions they had for rock removal and wasn't required. The slab will be in addition yes, and is due to them anticipating a higher class slab (e.g "M" class") but this will be confirmed after your soil test anyhow. Re: Anyone know how H3nley contract work? Help please! 4Jul 24, 2009 12:47 pm Thanks for your input- much appreciated! In regards to our slab, M class is apparently included in the base price but anything higher is going to cost us extra. I am assuming that we need a H class then, but do you think our admin. will tell us that! At the moment, their customer service is leaving a hell of a lot to be desired!
