Who did you ended up building with? I ended up going with Q******m Homes. They drew up some plans for me three times now, no charge and the price isn't to bad. Of course would like a few of the extras that I'm paying for as inclusions but I guess I can't have it all lol I really want colourbond roofing and have been quoted 6k for it. Just waiting on a definate price. lisanne :z: YaY!!! This place is great for getting your head around the process! If it wasn't for this place, I reckon I'd be a blubbering idiot by now lol D&SG Congratulations on moving forward! Did you end up changing the kitchen to something you like better? -S I'm still considering the kitchen...I like the last one you did for me. I have made sure that changing is still an option because it doesn't show on the last plan. They said as long as there are no major structural changes, it won't affect the contract/price. I hope thats right and I'm not just being told (#)%$*^ wonderland Congrats Eljay, glad to see that you've decided on a house to build!!! Haven't heard anything about them so I'm hoping they are good Ummmm I'll attempt at putting up a plan. Ummm Yes and no lol I'm incredibly nervous!! I'm way over budget and I'm always asking myself if I could have gotten a better deal lol I just have to stop doing that and move on with what I've got. I found out after I had signed that it doesn't include any paths out the back or any external lighting Bugger! Oh well, I guess ebay will get a work out between now and then! The start of an exciting time for sure. Love your floor plan, the kitchen looks really practical, in connection with lounge and meals areas. Will be watching your journey unfold with interest. Getting close to signing and paying deposits myself, I really 'get' the nervous/anxious/exciting feeling I'm counting on the fact that it's all gonna be worth it once we get to sit down in our OWN HOME and breathe some big sighs of relief Re: Here I go..Deposits paid, prelim contracts done! 14May 20, 2009 12:46 pm hi eljay this is fantastic news, and the plan looks sensational! well done! I need to get a firm price on the colourbond roof and they are saying I can't until I have finally plans So I want to make sure that everything I wanted changed gets changed now... I just need to see if the kitchen as is, is the same size of the one they have on display, if it is I may end up leaving it the same. If its smaller I will probably make the WIP a tad smaller and connect the island bench to the exterior wall near the WIP so I get more bench space. I lived in a house with stuff all bench space and want this on to be different cause I did nothing but complain about the last one I'm worried about how much my electrical will come in at, because I'm adding exterior lights etc... plus want additional points in the house. Geez I hope there builders range in tiles, carpets and bricks are good cause I have no money left to upgrade anything Thanks again everyone, you're certainly making it easier Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Hi All, We signed a prelim agreement last year (May 2022) and paid deposit to a builder. However, we didn't go ahead with them and never signed a contract. We ended going… 0 2309 Thanks. I called VBA today and they said it was a Consumer Affairs issue, the old handball.
