Re: Paul's 'Studio Four.2' - Frame Almost Done - 22/06 22Jun 22, 2009 8:27 pm Hi all, another quick update on the progress. Visited the block on the weekend and it seems the Frame Stage is almost complete. I think once they brick up the garage, they'll be able to put the roof trusses on and send me out the invoice, making it official. Bit of a drama during the week... I was told my chosen brick colour (Frost) was discontinued So it's been replaced by a colour called Pearl Grey. Still beige, just a bit darker. I didn't have a choice, because other houses in the street have to use the same brick as well (to complete the streetscape). Here are some pikkies (there's a couple more in the blog too).... I don't mind the brick colour either. Geez, they did a job on that window frame!! Not a lot has happened since my last post. The frame was completed on 28th June, and in the 4 weeks since then, only the roof has been put on. So progress is S-L-O-W...... really, really, really S--L--O--W....... I'm hoping the delays might have something to do with the dreadful weather we've been having in Melbourne over the last few weeks. It's been very windy, so maybe that's caused the progress to stall. Anyway, some pikkies.... I would say the windy conditions would have made it hard for the roofers to work. We were over in Melbourne last weekend and we couldn't believe how windy it was for the 3 days we were there. Hopefully the weather will be abit kinder for you and they can finish your roof early this week. We have found with our build things seem to happen in waves, nothing for a few weeks and then suddenly heaps gets done in one week. Hopefully this is your big week! Our custom build with Rossdale http://hazehome.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17630 I would suggest you simply go and talk to council about your proposal, most councils are getting onboard with ancillary dwellings. There is no benefit in keeping it… 1 4069 2 9385 This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this.
