I like! I just looked at the latest pics on your thread too, love the way the bath opens to the bed (we're doing similar). Also saw that the garage door is hidden from view from the entrance door, love it! Re: THE HOUSE PLAN THREAD 143Jun 27, 2010 9:23 pm MrsGreen I just looked at the latest pics on your thread too, love the way the bath opens to the bed (we're doing similar). Also saw that the garage door is hidden from view from the entrance door, love it! Thanx Mrs Green. We were very unsure about leaving the ensuite bath open to the bedroom, but it will be a spa, and we want to be able to watch the wall mounted TV in the bedroom whilst we soak... We can always put shutters on it later if we end up not liking an open ensuite... The garage thing was an estate guideline, something about garages not dominating the facade... We actually prefer it this way, as we get a big driveway (with enough room to drive out and turnaround so no reversing all the way to the street) and where the alfresco at the back is will be north east.... perfect for us. Checked out your blog too.. I love that you have a whole floor away from the kids.... Fantastic... The house we are in now has just the bed, what is supposed to be an ensuite & a couch area upstairs.... I don't think we could go back to sharing our space LOL. I actually meant the inside garage door, I think the photo I was looking at was the door from the house into the garage... maybe it was something else, but the door was recessed (forgive me for using the wrong terms) with a feature around it. That's a really good idea about being able to turn around without going into the street... now you've got me thinking. We are on a relatively main street so that would be very handy. I like the open bath concept, but if you don't an option is always a sliding shutter that is opaque, so you can't see clearly through it but light still shines through. They have the exact same thing at our casino, I really like it. Ohh ... yeah... we liked that too... One of those pillars hides the return air duct for the central heating and the other carries all of the smart wiring and ducted vacuum.. Kinda tough going there every day after work, swimming in their pools, spa, and every January working out with the tennis players from the Hopman cup.
