Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 1 30Jul 06, 2009 10:34 pm We were told by our builder that they were waiting on council and funnily enough you can view issued building licences on the City of stirlings website. We found out it had been approved and rang the builder straight away and told them we were not happy about the so called delay. Their reply was oh yeah we got the paperwork today. Goodluck I hope it happens soon for you. Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 1 32Jul 08, 2009 11:36 am Babe - don't jinx it! I'm sure they can always find something else..... Our builder has been very on top of it - they are getting frustrated and calling up every day. Luckily, we know a couple of people who have been elected into the council too, so I called one up yesterday and she'll be following it up to see if they can push it forward faster, because she thinks it rediculous! So fingers crossed.... The mayor couldn't help but maybe she can as it falls into her area more. Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 1 33Jul 08, 2009 11:50 am Did you want the Prime Minister's number? Just wanted to share some good news for us - Ultimate told me today that our council approval was received yesterday! Damn shame we still have a house sitting on the block though. Now just need the demolition guys to get on with it. Here's hoping you get your approval soon. Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 1 34Jul 09, 2009 9:40 pm thats great! good to hear someone is having some luck hopefuli ours will come through soon, our builders been reali nagging them too! hope your demolition of the old house goes well with no nasty surprises Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 1 35Jul 14, 2009 10:34 am Mr&Mrs Smith - how long did it take them to return the final plans and addenda? It has been 3 weeks since we signed the prestart variations and still nothing! Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 2 36Jul 15, 2009 9:32 am I can't remember... I think it was a bit over 3 weeks from memory. I remember they said it would take 2 weeks but it took longer than that, but I think it was some of the quotes took a while to come back, and they had to check a few things out about our retaining wall. Well, the owners from the right hand side didn't respond in the 14days period, so the council is supposed to review the building licence, but they have decided they want to send out another notice and wait ANOTHER 14 days..... GRRRRRR. And the supervisor hasn't been there so the person I know hasn't been able to talk to him about it..... Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 2 37Jul 15, 2009 3:40 pm Mrs Smith, I am not sure if this counts for anything but we had to get permission for our builder ourselves and the land developer gave us this information as it was necessary for the fencing also. Maybe you can contact the owners directly as I have had to do this myself on 2 other seperate occasions in 2 differents subdivisions. That might help speed up the process. Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 1 38Jul 15, 2009 3:51 pm Mr Smith wow what the heck! thats so stupid! whats that website link? mayb i should go check it out, just incase they are playing games! If you're building in Alexander Heights, you are in the city of Wanneroo, right? Call 9405 5000 and ask to speak to someone in the planning department, they can provide updates on any building license applications etc. I spoke to someone this morning, all you'll need is the name of your builder and the address of your land. If you run into any problems then by all means contact the councillor for your ward. Remember, you don't pay rates for nothing and the councillors are there to represent their residents! New beginnings. Re: mr smith and mrs_smith's building adventures -update pg 2 40Jul 16, 2009 9:30 am Mr Smith wow how interesting, mayb we should give them a call and get an update on what is going on. thanks =) I'm glad you pay so much attention to me babe the supervisor hasn't been in for days, so the person in charge of our job is sitting around doing nothing waiting for the 14days again. And I have called them too, twice *sigh* and told you We've contacted our councillor/family friend who is waiting for this supervisor to come back to work so she can put the pressure to get a move on as the supervisor wanted to wait for the 14days again, and the our contract administrator lives near the owners for this house, but they aren't there at the moment, we think they are on holidays, that's why they haven't responded. So we've done everything we can, calls and emails asking the person who is in charge of this job why on earth we have to wait a second lot of 14 days, our administrator has visited the house of the owner every couple of days but no ones there, our councillor is waiting to put pressure on this supervisor and I've called her every couple of days to see if he's in and he never is, and I can't think of much else to do. Assuming the structure of your cabinetry is good then I would DIY everything as follows: - replace your counter tops entirely, - replace all drawer runners with soft close… 1 4826 Re my second point – yes exactly. And often it may take additional time if the manufacturer recommends no more than X meters… 3 5697 |
