Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 15, 2009 7:53 pm Hi We aren't keen on the Colorbond choices for our panel lift garage door (Gliderol) and were wondering whether anyone has ever been able to change the colour? We like a colour called "Coorong Sands" in the Solver range - in between Classic Cream (too yellow) and Paper Bark (too dark). Or are there other companies out there who could supply a garage door in a different colour to the standard Colorbond range? Maybe we're being too picky and the Classic Cream or Paper Bark will blend in anyway... Out of interest, how much are the cedar(look?) garage doors? Re: Changing colour of garage door? 2May 16, 2009 10:24 am So you paint them with an undercoat then paint the colour of choice? I rang Gliderol direct and they told me they can powdercoat their garage doors for around $200. If we ask the builder to do this for us no doubt they will add on their mark-up. So it's something you do quite often and the result lasts for a long time? I'm in Adelaide - who would we be contacting here if we're going to paint? (Thanks!) Re: Changing colour of garage door? 3May 16, 2009 11:52 am cost us $495 to upgrade to the woodgrain look door... but well worth it in my opinion! 2nd build here we come in Whittlesea! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=92617 1st Build - Henley - Cooper in Doreen! CiNnY - is it a shade of brown over the top of the woodgrain pattern door, making it look like wood? And that's different to the cedar doors (which our builder told us cost $10K!!!)? Sounds too good to be true! It's just too orange for the facade of our home -big (expensive) mistake on our behalf. I would love to paint over it in a darker woodgrain look - is this possible? I believe that it has been sprayed and does look quite realistic - but just too orange for our colour selection.
