Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 15, 2009 5:57 pm Ok everyone,
This is what I hope will be the final design. I would like to thank everyone who has given advice and made this a nice workable (I hope) house. There is still time to make changes, so anything you think we should change, please let me know. I will be signing with Weeks Peacock in SA. Mainly because they came to the party with what we wanted and seemed to want to build our house. Angela the rep at Blackwood has been amazing and I can't sing her praises enough. Are you planning to have an outdoor entertaining area off the sliding doors at the back? Do you have a view? What size block have you got up there? Our custom build with Rossdale http://hazehome.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17630 Re: My SA Mount Barker Ranch Build - final plans 3May 16, 2009 9:27 am woodvillesouth Hi Metter Quite refreshing to see a Ranch style house on here, you get so used to seeing long thin houses designed for skinny little blocks. I has a front to back slope. I will be putting decking at the back which will go the length of the house (hence the doors of bedroom 1). There are fair (not spectacular) hill views from the back to the side of the house which is why I have bed 1 at the back with the ensuite at the front. Re: My SA Mount Barker Ranch Build - final plans 4May 16, 2009 11:40 am I really like the updates you've made, it makes for a much more liveable space. I really like the bathroom area and the extra storage in the media and living area's. Only suggestion would be to perhaps make the laundry internal door part frosted glass as that would help natural light get to the hallway. nice work Nik Building Upside down house in Wantirna VIC Current Stage: Procrastination... it's just all too hard.... We are having a solar light tube in the hallway to deal with that issue. Re: My SA Mount Barker Ranch Build - signed contract 7May 17, 2009 10:36 pm CONGRATS......now the fun begins Re: My SA Mount Barker Ranch Build - signed contract 8Sep 07, 2009 10:20 pm metter, Will be following your build progress with interest for two reasons We are also building with Weeks Peacock & our sales consultant was also Angela. We've had a rather lengthy delay (signed contracts Feb 09, did selections April 09) due to problems with the first and second plan submitted to the engineers. The third plan resulted in a split level garage which looks a bit weird on the front elevation, but will look fine once the landscaping and outside stairs are done. Our plans should be submitted to council very soon (next week or two). They are currently with the encumberance manager for approval. Good luck with the build. Here are my plans: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ If what you describe is correct then the brick wall has been dry lined with villa board.
