Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth 5May 13, 2009 9:51 pm Hey jenz My man and I are building with goodlife - so far they have been great & really understood what we are after compared to others. We have worked up our plans, got our prestart file and are just waiting to sign our contract. We're very interested to see how you go & to hear about your experiences along the way Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth 6May 14, 2009 12:19 pm Welcome Jenz, did you modify your design or is yours off-the-plan? Just curious... Btw I am building with Redink Homes. Come to think of it, I believe I am the only one building with Redink. Ed Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth 7May 14, 2009 12:51 pm Thanks Nicci and Kirsada - I have been reading your posts getting lots of helpful info Hi gurlistar - It's good to see someone else building with goodlife. They have been really helpful and understanding so far! I will keep you updated on this. Hi siegestrike - our house is off the plan. We considered getting rid of the study for a bigger living area but in the end just left it as is. Good luck and look forward to hearing more about everyone's progress! Building in Byford with Goodlife Homes Settlement July 24th Slab September 22nd Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth - Colour Selections 22/05 8May 24, 2009 12:29 pm We had our colour meeting at the tile shop on Friday and chose most of the things for the house. So far we have - EXTERIOR Roof Tiles: Monier Prime Sambuca Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Gutters/Fascia: Colourbond mountain blue Windows : Charcoal Bricks: Hampton (Austral) Downpipes: Colourbond Mountain blue Driveway/Alfresco Pavers: Charcoal/Red border Front Door : Timber Stain - mid brown (can't remember the colour) INTERIOR Kitchen - Benchtop : Formica Ice Crush (wanted laminex ash dust but is discontinued) Lower Cupboards : Laminex Blackened Linewood. Flooring : Still deciding on tiles or laminate for living areas and kitchen Mid Grey carpet for bedrooms, theatre, activity and study ( don't have a picture though!) Blinds: White Sunblock Verticals Doors/Door frames :Solver Paper White Bathrooms- Benchtop and cupboards: Formica Limed Ash Tiles: Enviro Flint 200 x 200 (dark grey/black) floors/skirting Enviro plus neutral 200 x 200 (white) walls Laundry/Toilet: Flint tiles We are having a strip of the floor tile but in 200 x 400 laid on the wall through the shower in ensuite and a strip of the wall tile (200 x 400) laid on the floor up to the bath surrounds in the main bathroom. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone else! That is all so far I think...we do the electrical part and choose cupboard handles etc in the next meeting. I see you have chosen the Sambucca roof tile, which is what we are going with too!! I am still tossing up what to use as the gutters/fascia...The lady at the shop said Monument and that ironstone was too blue, and woodland grey was too green. Have you seen any houses with the sambucca and ironstone combo?? Have not seen any houses with it but definitely go monument otherwise too green or blue Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth - Colour Selections 23/05 11May 25, 2009 9:15 pm kirsada Your colours look nice - well done! Have you seen any houses with the sambucca and ironstone combo?? We liked it a little blue as the fencing in the estate is colourbond 'Bluestone' and I have seen a few houses with the dark roof and the blue gutters/fascia. We liked it with the red bricks we are having - if we had cream bricks or render I think I would choose monument. Desmondp congrats on the signing of the contract. Nicci Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth - Colour Selections 23/05 13Jun 23, 2009 10:08 am Hey all just curious how long it took you from the time you signed your contract with goodlife to get an appointment for prestart?? we were originally told that it takes around 2 weeks.. My partner called them last week and was told that they were waiting on our file to come from another area and that we'd hear from them later in the week. Didn't hear anything so yesterday I called to find out what was going on - I get told that we have to wait until late July to get an appointment as they're really busy!!?? We signed our contract at the end of May... does that seem like a ridiculously long time to anyone else? Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth - Colour Selections 23/05 14Jun 23, 2009 2:03 pm Hi gurlistar It is a long time I think! We signed our contracts early May, had the colour appt and now have to wait till July for prestart also Building in Byford with Goodlife Homes Settlement July 24th Slab September 22nd Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth - Colour Selections 23/05 15Jun 23, 2009 2:33 pm Thanks for that! Yeah I know what you mean, we are so organised it's scary. All our colours are sorted and we'd already done most of our 'prestart' stuff by contract stage so we really are just waiting to get things rolling. We don't even need the interior designer but they're making us use them as its a service we're paying for anyway... just willing the phone to ring now.. It's all good, I just like things to be quick and efficient and this waiting around for things to not even progress without constant (polite and respectful!!) harassing is what's frustrating me! Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth - Colour Selections 23/05 16Jun 23, 2009 3:58 pm Hi Jenz hadn't seen this thread. Another byford-ite. You seem to be at the same stage as us.. waiting lol Re: Building with Goodlife Homes Perth - Colour Selections 23/05 17Jun 23, 2009 7:56 pm We are sick of waiting too.....we just want to get started!!!! This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17629 3 48409 Ask for references and speak to them.
