I wonder what the building companies reaction to this will be. An extra $6k for us means extra money to spend on overpriced upgrades. And of course not forgetting the already overpriced upgrades. But yep, $32k if u sign between 1 July and 30 Sep 09. Williams Landing Stage 10 - Kingwell Neighbourhood Re: VIC BUDGET! 12May 13, 2009 12:21 am I hope we also get $32k, but i dont really want to get my hopes up until the government finalise things. We would have to wait a week or two before we can call the SRO to find out all the terms/conditions I'm going for the signing of my tender in two days, now i have to try and delay my contract signing until July!! I dont know if they would be very happy with us if we did that. I have not got my contract yet. I have pushed them to get it before June 30. It may be ready in 1 week and they want me to sign asap. I’m in a rural area so I get the bit extra also. However, from my experiences with the government it seems a bit too good to be true. It’s like a double dip. The treasure on the 6/5/09 made the statement what he was going to do. The Vic state revenue web site clearly illustrates it. So, now there is a window of opportunity of 3 months to get a bit from both the pre June 30th 09 and post (being the budget announcement tonight). If this is the case what about if you signed a contract yesterday. I guess you miss out big time. Lets hope we all score on this one. Re: VIC BUDGET! 14May 13, 2009 1:30 am Extension of the First Home Owners Boost Mr Speaker, the First Home Owners Boost has supported employment and helped 59,000 Australians buy their first home. In light of the continuing global uncertainty, and the success of this initiative, tonight I announce that we will extend the Boost for a further six months - including three months at the full rate, before stepping it down. I think anyone planning to sign a contract in Victoria before the end of June will be delaying until July now. I wonder what the building companies reaction to this will be. Well The gov't has come through! Although I am not eligable for the FHOG, this is great news indeed. Hopefully this means that all you folks that have been pushed up the queue for getting your contracts from (....insert builder here) will now be re-prioratized and we can actually get our contract out of the builders after paying our deposit 5 months ago I certainly don't begrudge those who are intitled, but it's been a bit dissappointing that (...insert builder here) doesn't work off the first in/best dressed policy. sorry-rant over, congrats to all those eligible (make sure you get it singed before end of Sept) Re: VIC BUDGET! 17May 13, 2009 8:47 am Would love to be a builder right now. For all of those pushing for June 30 contract signing, I would make sure I got the contract out to you by then. Anyone who would want to delay signing for the extra VIC $$ would have their contract deemed void, and a new contract would have to be drawn up - most likely with increased costs. Builders will rake it in now. Re: VIC BUDGET! 18May 13, 2009 10:37 am I gave the SRO a call this morning and people will be eligible for the $32k grant if they sign their building contract between 1st July til 30th Sept. The criterias remain the same as before. to those who will be eligible for this amount! I have just forwarded an e-mail to our sales rep to gage his reaction and check out our options as our contract is being written as we speak. Even if it costs us a $1500 variation fee to change the contract and have it re-written it will still be worth it. Has anyone head anything from there sales reps yet?
