All your advice is very much appreciated....THANKS!!! gee they do seem to be taking a while huh?? Did you make many modifications??. We are building the aston ,with the big C, with many mods and after paying the intial 750 plus the 2500, we had our plans back in two weeks and sent off to council. They do have to send off plans for energy efficiency cert before going to council, maybe thats holding them up?? In regards to tender. Just check with your CSo but With ours, I asked our CSO and she said they can extend the tender. And that we wouldnt have to pay an increase unless it was us that was holding up the process with regards to balance of deposit or land titles etc. If it is C's fault or in council we wouldnt have to pay. they said its more of a deterrent for owners to not drag out the whole process. Just get it in writing from them just in case!! Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! We did have some modifications but we only got our 1st tender variation documents#1 sent out to us (mail) on 07/05/09 for signing and so we hurriedly gave it back to them the following day so not to cause any delays. Maybe its the BASIX thats causing the delay coz a friend told us that they had some problem with the waterboard approval... When did you sign the contract with them??? Coz I think we havent even got up to that stage yet. Nothing in writing to tell us about the building time frame and other important stuff that I think we should know... We're hoping to hear from them soon... HAPPY BUILDING!!! Re: Need Help Building with C_don cReStMeAd...PLEASE>>> 4May 13, 2009 1:53 pm bebeko Thanks mellybuilding for the reply!!! Keep us updated on your progress!! I have heard that the BASIX can take a while too. Maybe that is the hold up! crossed fingers once thats all sorted it will be full steam ahead!! After council approval "final Drawings" took 6 weeks. Yes 4.5 months delay + interest + rent is not the best... My Tender expired 6 times - yes that's right and for about a month there was a time when I had no valid tender at all. They ended up just sending me out a variation each time to extended to contract without increasing the cost which I was happy about. 5 months into the build C. are going well, there was a few weeks lost due to rain and the usual 2 weeks lost over Christmas and then again over Easter. They still say they will be around the 30weeks mark. So good luck with them. We are building the Kirribilli which was DWs choice, mine was the Crestmead...
