New Pics 1/06/09 45Jun 09, 2009 6:18 pm Hi, It seems I've been blessed with this dredded cold that everyone in Melbourne seems to have at the moment. It completely knocked me out for a week! I finally started to feel good on Sunday (just in time for our fixing inspection today!!) All looks fabulous and we are extremely happy with the rate work is going along. They are currently sanding and finishing off all the skirtings so they all sit flush and fixing any chips etc in the plaster ready for painting. Our internal painting looks like to start end of next week. Our render will also start so can't wait to see that on both the balcony's! Our outside will finally look finished!! YAY! Our entry doors arrive next week too and the ceaserstone benchtops have been measured and they get put on in the next couple of weeks. No update on photo's as there isn't too much of a progress to see. When the render is done, I'll be sure to put some more up! Oh and the kitchen too when the benches are in - I can't wait for that either!!! How's your's coming along Vkumar? Did you manage to have a sneak peak over the weekend? Stormy - your home is coming along nice and fast too!!! You're not that far behind me - it's so exciting isn't it???? Did you manage to have a walk around over the weekend? Did you manage to have a walk around over the weekend? Hi Macca, no such luck for me. Not sure if the plasterers have been back, I've been away all weekend and there was no one on site when I drove past twice today. It's full of mud and absolutely freezing outside, so I couldn't be bothered getting out of the car to have a look through the windows!!! You are about 2 weeks ahead of me still! Can't wait to see the render on your place! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! New Pics 1/06/09 47Jun 09, 2009 7:00 pm Thanks Macca Our kitchen and vanities are installed now together with the stairs. Skirtings & architraves works are nearly complete. This week, they will be preparing the plaster for paint works. We also got our base render two weeks ago. Want to see how the final colours look on our house. I will update my blog with some more pics and let you know. Have been really busy shopping for furniture, lights etc, etc... Re: Macca's Home - Kitchen and Vanities in!!! They were part of the standard inclusions at H3nley which was lucky for us!! The administrator said that painting will commence this week. Hopefully that does happen. Hi Vkumar, Yeah things are progressing along nicely! I think we're supposed to start painting at the end of this week too - can't wait!! Our render has finished and all our electrical points and light fittings have been cut out of the plaster ready for installation! I've scheduled in a day next week to have all our carpets and blinds people come in to measure up so I will take photo's then!! New Pics 1/06/09 52Jun 17, 2009 8:56 am Nice house im very surprised that they allowed you to have a door under the stairs though. we asked for a door but was told that we wernt allowed to due to fire hazard. dose under your stairs have special insulation? New Pics 1/06/09 53Jun 17, 2009 9:49 am Thanks JohnandTarin! We didn't have any issues when we asked (just had to pay for the extra door) and they have fully insulated it and put skirtings and everything under it! We were quite surprised at that actually! We wanted that to be our little wine cellar and probably the 'dumping' area! Our stairs are right against an outside wall so maybe that's why it wasn't an issue?? Not far to go for your house! I can't believe how much has happened lately! It's great news!! New Pics 1/06/09 54Jun 17, 2009 12:20 pm Further to the door under the stairs... Macca and I are building with the same builder. We also have under stair storage (wine cellar!). We only had to pay for the door, but I did get the common walls between adjoining rooms insulated! Our stairs are almost smack bang in the middle of the house...not next to an exterior wall. No mention of a fire hazard, and absolutely no problem at all to install. Not sure if they will put skirtings and things in it, but I do know it won't be painted and won't have 'flooring' in it. I can't wait to see more pics, Macca!! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! New Pics 1/06/09 56Jul 02, 2009 9:48 am Hi Vkumar! Yes I have an update today!! The house has had a full 1st cover of paint which is soooo exciting!!! It looks like a house now!! The render has been done on both balconies and flushing (I think that's what it's called) on the balconies so we are now ready to tile them and put the balustrades on!! Can't wait!! All the benchtops are in and we have scheduled our smoke alarms and alarms to be put in on monday 13th July (when the tilers are in). So moving along nicely! How is your house coming along? Is it nearly finished? New Pics 1/06/09 57Jul 02, 2009 10:35 pm Hi Macca We had our site meeting with the supervisor today. Painting is complete now. The tiler should have commenced on Wednesday but we were advised on Tuesday that the floor tile we selected was discontinued by National Tile. I was really furious with National Tile but couldn't do much apart from reselecting a replacement. We selected only the front render and is now complete. Garage doors are in now. Bench top are in now and I was told that the fireplace will be installed next week. I was quite impressed with the work so far. They did a great job. Tiling is now booked for next week. It seems we are not far now probably another month to go!!! Re: Macca's Home - Kitchen and Vanities in!!! New Pics 1/06/09 59Jul 20, 2009 11:08 am All good Vkumar so far... We have had all the cupboards, air con, smoke detectors and alarm fitted in. Tiling started last week however the wall times in the ensuite are 3mm smaller than the floor tiles so they don't match up (we upgraded to have full wall tiles). We are still waiting to hear back from (we got the phone call on Friday) as to what they can do... not happy. Our glass balustrades go on the 2 balconies this week and the sinks / toilets are booked in for this week too. Haven't been given dates though - how about your house? New Pics 1/06/09 60Jul 20, 2009 11:04 pm Hi Macca I was advised by my administrator that they will discuss the handover program with me this Friday. The tradies will complete the final fit outs this week and the construction manager will inspect before the file goes to Warranties and handover department. I anticipate that they will advise me the handover date pretty soon. May be we will be in our house before end of August. I was told that the handover department takes approx 4 weeks.
