Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Damage and theft 41Oct 11, 2009 2:24 pm Tornado_ALIVE Metr1con desplay homes in Williams Landing have a rented portable (on trailer) security cameras on site whilst they are building. The cameras are mounted quiet high on booms and cover quieta large area. Don't know how much they are to rent. Obviously noy cheap if you don't see more of them around. Perhaps 3 or 4 builders could share the cost of one. That's an excellent idea Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! I had a call from them during the week to go through my statement and they said they would be "visiting" the registered owner, I hope he gets very nervous and it really puts the wind up him and his friends! We had an empty bin delivered this morning and a little later I heard noises and went out to see what it was and a guy was dumping crap in the new bin, when I said "what do you think your doing" he said the builder had told him it was okay, when I asked who specifically said he could, he said he talked to the brickies and they said it was okay to put some things in the bin, I said that I thought he was ****** and the brickies have no right to give the okay, he then had the cheek to say could he put what he was holding in the bin as it wasn't much, I told him if he wanted to give me $80 no problems to which he asked me was I living next door, when I said I was he said it must be nice to be rich, can you believe the audacity of this guy? I took a photo of his vehicle: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I made him take out what he had already put in the bin and he then asked me were we having a lawn, as you will see from the image he is a lawnmower man, as if I would want a scumbag like him cutting our grass! GRrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Re: Damage and theft 45Nov 03, 2009 1:12 pm OMG vid how rude lucky you got his pic though, you should ring the builder and let them know Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! If its the later.. He assumed we OWN the house next door that we are living in, I told him it had nothing to do with him but we don't own it we are renting! I'm sure this guy just goes around dumping his crap like this all the time, when we moved we visited the dump a number of times and spent about $300, dumping is not cheap but some scumbags like him just think other should pay for his dumping. We haven't even put any of our own rubbish in the big bin, so others doing it annoys me even more! Re: Damage and theft 52Nov 04, 2009 3:00 pm It's rotten to have your new house messed up while it's being build. Do you think some of the neighbours are mean enough to throw their rubbish or mess it up for you? Maybe some kids around. If the neighbours are bad, what's it going to be like living there? Re: Damage and theft 53Nov 04, 2009 10:45 pm jcjuice yes i wonder if that's actually legal to post up here anyway..... privacy infringement?... Do you think some of the neighbours are mean enough to throw their rubbish or mess it up for you? Maybe some kids around. If the neighbours are bad, what's it going to be like living there? It's definitely not neighbours in the near vicinity as we have been living in the house we demolished to build there for the last 21 years and we know the neighbours VERY well, also the fact that we are renting the house right next door and I work from home a lot I see/hear much that goes on. Re: Damage and theft 54Nov 05, 2009 8:51 am Oh Vid, even with his cool front, i am sure he must have been dying inside when you caught him in the act! My poor neighbours who are building across the road has now got an old red couch up front. They must have come during the night as dh saw it when he got home from work. Re: Damage and theft 55Nov 08, 2009 5:21 pm I am so mad, I need to vent as it's only Sunday and can't speak to the SS or CSC until tomorrow. I went down to the house today to have a look-see through the windows as it's in fixing stage and lo and behold I see what previously was my untouched, unwrapped full pallet of bricks diminished to barely two rows of bricks... I'm not even sure if they will replace these as when I mentioned to my SS that my excess pile of roof tiles had reduced to only four after some worker's had built a nice little path around the house so as not to get their shoes muddy (?!), he suggested visiting another M build site to take their excess tiles to replace mine I have pictures that are time and date stamped, showing the bricks as they were the last time I visited which clearly shows that bricking was well and truly completed by that stage so there was no need for the builders to have any further use for my bricks, so my assumption now is that someone has been nicking them Bricks as at 20/10/09 (bricking fully completed). Instead all my wet area tiles are scratched and need to be replaced. My portico tiles need to be ripped up due to paint bleaching the colour of the tiles, and the grout in my $16,000 tiles have been stained with mud and need to be regrouted or scrubbed with a toothbrush and bleach. Don't most councils have hard rubbish? I just have to ring my council if I have an old couch, they give me a date to put it out the front, and then they come collect it. I think I get four a year. Yikes! In that case there's definitely a need for them to keep their boots mud-free, in my case though I have no flooring/tiling/carpets down at all.
