We're building a double storey prestige house with Porter Davis. During our tender, we spent 45 mins just on the staircase just to make sure we got what we wanted.
This is a pic provided by PD and it is exactly what we wanted:

Tender was signed, contract was signed and now we are just reviewing our construction drawings when PD now drop a bombshell and tell us that if we want the tread that is not covered by carpet to be stained, we need to upgrade all the treads to timber at an additional cost of $1803.
PD now say that our tender presenter and CSC were mis informed when they made us that promise.
What do we do now? My first thought is....it's PD's fault, the contract has been signed. They have to honour it.
WDYT???
