Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 09, 2009 9:17 am So after many months (years!) we have finally signed to build We will be knocking down our existing house and building this one: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ On the plans the room marked "Games Room" will end up being our home theatre, also the study will have a door and there will be a viewing window to the activity room. We are waiting for our contract and already starting to panic on pre-start as there are too many choices to be made! We can't make any structural changes now but any comments would be appreciated. Thanks Re: Our plans 2May 09, 2009 9:33 am Sorry, the image is too small to really see the plan well. Can you try to post a bigger image? Re: Our plans 3May 09, 2009 10:15 am Here is the link to the plans: http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m273/SuzanneKuuse/Housebuilding/plans.jpg Re: Our plans 4May 09, 2009 10:33 am It's still the same size Is it a scanned image? or did you photograph the plans? By the way, congrats on getting to where you are! Re: Our plans 5May 09, 2009 11:24 am I knew when my DH changed the size it would not appear properly but he thinks he knows best on computers. Hope you can see now. Re: Our plans 8May 09, 2009 12:44 pm Much better! I like the design, your kitchen looks massive. Looks like the kids will have plenty of space to spread out. How many sqm is the house? Re: Our plans 9May 09, 2009 1:05 pm The house including alfresco is 358sqm. (our current is 180sqm) I have been working in a tiny kitchen for 8 years and that is the one area I really wanted to be better. The kids currently have all their toys in our lounge room (plus the rest of the house ) and I wanted an area for them to play near where the kitchen is as they are only young (nearly 2 and 4 years old and hoping to add to the family in the next year or so). Re: Our plans 10May 09, 2009 4:29 pm I daresay you "might" feel lost in there That IS massive... and all on one floor! Good luck on it all and keep us posted. I personally cant see anything I would have changed but I'm not terribly good at picking out the small details. -S Re: Our plans 11May 09, 2009 6:00 pm Hi firstbuild, Your plans look great, I really like how you have done the kitchen. We had some plans drawn up by plunkett but changed our minds at the last minute! I had a read of your blog, what a start you have had to trying to build a house! Hopefully everything will go smoothly for you from now on! Sonya Re: Our plans 12May 10, 2009 9:07 am Great plan... I love it.... It has everything... I am intrigued how they do the angled garage wall...never seen that before.. well done enjoy the experience of building... I understand from my friends in Perth that Plunkett is a good builder Life is an enjoyment, enjoy it Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6894 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 If there have been changes, variations, during construction then the drawings should be revised, the building permit amended and the current, as built drawings given to… 2 4490 |
