Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 08, 2009 2:08 pm I just stumbled across it today because I was looking for something to do with the house we're building soon (the Hamilton 35). It was very interesting - a lot more houses with smaller base areas to allow for the smaller blocks that are being sold here in Brisbane. The whole website has been changed. I'm very glad that we got in when we did. We love the design of the Hamilton, and there isn't a comparable house on the new web site, floor-plan and size wise. Maybe I am not used to it yet... I agree - they seem to be going for the smaller lot houses. Which is what the market / developers are currently doing - so can see why they are doing the same. For us though - most of new range are missing some key features. You don't seem to be able to have 2 separate / decent living areas, decent alfresco & a study - that is hard to find in the new range. Like you - am happy we got in when we did. We built a Lakewood 31 last year (no longer available) - and couldn't live without all of our extra living spaces. Gotta say though - we LOVE our adenbrook! Liked the Hamilton too Hope your build goes well. Re: Adenbrook (Qld) has changed their range. 4May 11, 2009 6:35 pm yeah im not fussed on Adenbrooks new site either. Looks like they have cut their range of houses down too!! I had a look at a couple of the display houses they have built in Kawana ( the new section in brightwater) and they are really nice I lOVED the hamilton. We wanted to build that house!! we fell in love with the display they had ( i think at coomera??? ) Cant even remember why we didnt go with them now, Prob just price id say. However, I hope it works well for them - all the Adenbrook people we've dealt with so far have been fantastic so I'd like to see them do well. Thanks for the good wishes with the building! I can't wait for them to start! Mellybuilding - ooh we didn't get as far as the Kawana display homes but we went to a number of Adenbrooks in Brisbane and fell in love with a lot of them too. Their interior design people really know their stuff - all of their displays are just beautiful. Oh yeah - we looked at Plantation too. We liked them but Adenbrook won out in the end just because we liked the finish and the extra bits. Best of luck with the building - hope it's going well Building a Hamilton split level with Adenbrook Re: Adenbrook (Qld) has changed their range. 8May 12, 2009 8:14 am I am an Adenbrook display home junkie! Not so much now - but before / while we were building, I used to come up with excuses to 'go for a drive'... oh look - it is near an Adenbrook display! I think we went to all the Brisbane & outreach ones, and the Sunshine Coast ones. Don't think we made it too the Gold Coast though. (maybe a idea soon! hehe) Love the finishings & decorating - and getting ideas. Re: Adenbrook (Qld) has changed their range. 9May 12, 2009 8:26 am Louise4499 I am an Adenbrook display home junkie! (maybe a idea soon! hehe) Love the finishings & decorating - and getting ideas. Me too! After we'd chosen, my partner had display home withdrawals so we ended up still going 'round every weekend for a while! M3tricon is excellent for displays too - beautiful interiors. We nearly went with them but found some feedback that made us think twice. Plus I think Adenbrook had more inclusions. By the way, can anybody tell me why everybody seems to be spelling M3tricon like this? Why doesn't anyone spell it normally? Its the same with Cl@rendon etc so if the builder is trauling through and doing searches for their own company name spelt either M3tricon or Cl@rendon correctly . It wont appear. especially handy if we are all saying naughty things bout them!!! Thats my take on it anyway??? Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! We have built two houses with them - our first (a Riviera 34) was back when they were starting out (we were contract 54)and last April we moved into our new Sandhurst 37 with an extended alfresco. We have always loved the Adenbrook look and feel and wouldn't even risk another builder (already mentioned on here) because we have heard so many bad reports about them. Adenbrook, for us, have always had the quality of design, inclusions and finish that has won us over. I must say though, that I don't like the 'new' website (or the fact that the designs we love are no longer available) but would be interested to know if they would complete a custom build if they were approached. Not that we are contemplating building again anytime soon, but it would be just nice to know ... TM We built our dream home on acreage nearly a year ago. House #2 with Adenbrook and we love it! Re: Adenbrook (Qld) has changed their range. 12May 12, 2009 1:53 pm Thanks for the explanation Mellybuilding - that makes sense Taylormade - yes, I was so glad we got in when we did! Ours must be one of the last Hamiltons being built by Adenbrook. I saw that they have a small range of customizable homes, so they might be able to be a bit flexible in what they can do in the future. I noticed their inclusions options have changed too - now there are three levels to choose from. I haven't looked too hard at them though. Love the design. Our lakewood is very similar, just not a quirky with the layout (interesting flow in the hallway through the house, like the Sandhurst!) And couldn't agree more about the quality of designs, finishes & inclusions. While we liked the other big builders - no one could compair for us! Glad to find another happy Adenbrook fan! Hi all.
