Hi All,
We just went for our electrical appointment (building with M in Melb) and when we asked that we just wanted standard batten points for future downlights, we were told the following:
Because there are beams in the roof space and downlights go up in the roof space - to make sure that the light points are in such places that dont interfere with beams will be $25 extra for EVERY POINT apart from $56 for any additional batten points.
Now, we were hoping to save some money by doing downlights ourselves once we were in. But this $25 extra for every point just about killed any savings we were hoping to make. so we have now let builder do the downlights which is $46 for where there was a point and $102 for any additional, such a ripoff.
Has anyone heard this before coz this sounds bollocks to me.
