I notice you're going for a dark roof. We chose Colorbond Windspray because we were concerned a dark roof would cause us headaches with NatHERS and BASIX. Having said that there is a house nearby using Blue Rio and a very dark charcoal tile roof that got through cos it's still being built!! Don't know about your bathroom colours because I'm not familiar with the them but your kitchen sounds like it will be very dramatic and wonderful!!! The article in yesterday's Home section of Sydney's Daily Telegraph on kitchen trends said high gloss and dark colours in kitchens (doors, splashbacks etc) were very 'in' at the moment. Good luck can't wait to see pics. Re: External colour selection - Your opinions plz 4May 03, 2009 3:00 pm That's a good point Pix - thanx - i know our home will come with 5 star energy rating so i might need to look at choosing a lighter roof tile. bluesteel Your colours sound really lovely.....2 things are you worried about the heat factor dark (gorgeous) bricks and dark roof - have you thought of a light colour maybe? and silver splashback on clear glass - will that look really green metallic or did you mean starphire glass? Sounds like our roof will definetly be too dark - Can u recommend a lighter tile that will go with the surfist color being used on the garage door, front doors and guttering? Here is the surfist color: surfmist.jpg What about the storm grey - mmm..! Striata_Storm_Grey_VIC.jpg The Glass splashback reads as "Crystal Glass Bright Silver on Clear". The sample we saw looked bright silver when looking at it front on but as you increase the angle it becomes darker - i can't remember seeing any green shades .. but then again it doesn't help looking at a 10cm x 20cm sample! . . They appear lighter in full sun. They would suit your colour scheme well. Your splashback sounds great. I'm either going for a similar colour, or slightly darker. I think I'll have to go see some samples. Re: External colour selection - Your opinions plz 7May 26, 2009 9:59 am Hi there dvs_dk, Your colours sounds lovely! I'm choosing similar exterior colours as well - I'm going for Vic Blue bricks and dark roof as well. I was also concerned about heating factors as mentioned the rest here. I was really keen to go for a light/white roof but to go as light as almost white, I think only Colourbound has it. Concrete Roof Tiles aren't really as light - most of them are dark or mid grey tones. And my estate doesn't allow Colourbond Roofs or Fences. Hence, I had to stick with dark roof tiles. Have you got any pics so far? Or any other pictures of the look you want to achieve using Vic Blue bricks and dark rook? =) Re: External colour selection - Your opinions plz 8May 26, 2009 8:12 pm Still waiting for our slab to be poured so no pics just yet. I did however come across the below homes / images using the Vic Blue. They look great with off white mortar. I think as long as you have light garage, portico and guttering then you will achieve a really nice look. dark brick with white garage.jpg IMG_0093.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ [b]Contract signed 3rd May --> Handover mid FEB Hi there, we have classic cream gutters, fascia’s, roller door and undercover carport.
