Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 02, 2009 7:16 pm Hi everyone, Just been waiting for dfh to organise the contract papers (been 9 weeks now ) I emailed DFH 4 weeks ago, as I thought the colour consultant would of contacted us by now for appointment. But our dfh guy (he is wonderful) had informed us that, because of the demand, we wont be able to get a appointment till after the contract. Is there anyone in the same situtation as us. I just don't wait too stress if I dont want too. Re: been told to wait till after the contract 2May 02, 2009 7:33 pm Just move your contract date till after the color consultant? ---------------------------------------- Building the PD Lisbon 24 http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#homeviewer/lisbon/24 Blog of our progress. http://lisbon24.blogspot.com/ Homeone build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28665 Re: been told to wait till after the contract 3May 02, 2009 7:38 pm thanks so much for your reply, we would love too but we really need to get it in before June the 30th. The contract usually takes about 12-14 weeks which is cutting it soo fine. I do wish we were more organised. Re: been told to wait till after the contract 4May 02, 2009 7:40 pm I think a lot of the builders are putting all their effort into getting everyone to contract before June 30 then they'll add colours and tiles etc as PCVs. It's not entirely unheard of to go to contract first. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Can I ask a silly question what does PVC ?? PCV = Post Contract Variation A form that details any alterations you (or the builder) make to the design of the house after the initial contract has been signed. It has to be signed by both you and the builder to be valid. Re: been told to wait till after the contract 12May 02, 2009 8:24 pm We also did all our colour selections after the contract was signed and it wasn't a problem Re: been told to wait till after the contract 13May 03, 2009 2:10 am Thanks for discussing this, it's interesting to us! We are signing the contract first before colour and electrical appointments, for the FHOG. Our reason though is that we can't visit Australia in time, and are currently overseas. M3tricon does not seem too fussed about this arrangement, though they did warn that they cannot apply for DA until colours have been selected.
