Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 02, 2009 10:17 am Hi, Well some excitement, we have been given a date for the first walkthough of our house - to be 25 May (too far away I say!). Anyhow, so far it is unclear what happens from then and before we start demanding this and that, I thought it would be good to hear what others have experienced with Carlisle. That is - from the walkthrough, what timeframe did Carlisle promise to fix things and did this happen? - how long from walkthrough until handover? - and how much warning for actual handover date? Thanks! Carlisle Atlantique 32sq - Handover 13th Aug... MAYBE? (1 week) Re: Carlisle handover process & timing - anyone know? 3May 03, 2009 4:27 pm doghouse, I'm so excited for you!!! Congratulations, your close to getting the keys to your beautiful new home! Carlisle will 'promise' you handover of the keys 2 weeks after the walkthrough, so for you would probably be 8th June 2009. However, ours was promised to be 2 weeks after, but was postponed a few times. So we got the keys about 3 - 4 weeks after walkthrough, mainly because of some delays in occupancy permits and other reasons, which I've seriously forgotten! But yeah, hopefully your handover will be 2 weeks after, if not, they might delay it. Beware, also that they might delay the walkthrough appointment beforehand too. Our walkthrough was delayed, when it came it was a fantastic feeling not getting another call from them to delay it, then the handover date gets postponed again and again. But look, we werent in a rush and we wanted things done right - if they needed more time, then so be it! If your a bit impatient, as everyone would be, hopefully your handover will be on the 8th. Good luck with the rest of your build!! Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! We have been pretty impressed with progress the whole way. Just gets frustratingly slow at the end! S&P - thanks for your reply. When we met with the SS and his boss a while ago they talked about the process and mentioned 2 weeks from walk through, but also seems to say we would have a definite month warning to be able to plan. So not sure. Just makes it hard to plan for the actual move and for scheduling our flooring. We really don't think too much can go wrong from here (famous last word... ) - as there isn't a lot left to do. So hopefully handover will be early June. We definitely want everything right, so if that means another week or so then we will live with it.
