Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 01, 2009 4:41 pm Hi everyone, I'm thinking of going to display homes to get more ideas of furnishing and landscape ideas. I tried googling different display villages in Melbourne but there was alot on there which have already shut. Can anyone recommend any good display homes which are still open in Melbourne? I dont really mind where in melbourne, as I can make it a day trip if it's abit out of my way! I've been the the lyndhurst ones already and they were pretty good! Joles, I think you would know many as you've seen alot, can you recommend some please?! Thanks everyone Idiots are fun, that's why there is one in every village! - Dr. House - Re: Any good display homes/village to visit in Melb?! 2May 01, 2009 4:49 pm Hi Wonderland, I'd be heading to Alamanda at Point Cook...... there's heaps and heaps of brand new displays open there! Reflections at Tarneit has a heap of good ones. In your neck of the woods, there's some nice ones at Cascades on Clyde, new ones at Sierra, some older ones at Lakeside at Pakenham but there's a few there. Mernda has a few villages and some good ones at Epping, Seine place at Caroline Springs. Then in about six months you can come and visit me at Wallan and see all the new ones at Wallara Waters! M3tricon and PD are definitely doing displays there as they have already got the land. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I have actually been to the Alamada display, very nice houses there. But I will check out the other displays soon!! Thanks again! The display opening is today, which would suggest that more than 3 builders have displays open (only 3 last time I went there!) I've been to a few display villages, and have found the Lyndhurst ones well furnished and landscaped nicely - across all builders. Re: Any good display homes/village to visit in Melb?! 6May 02, 2009 12:55 am Hi Wonderland. We have just done the same as you. My poor husband said he would never visit another display home again but I was really keen to see shutters and blinds. So we went to Simonds in Mernda at Woodland Waters which is near Mernda Villages on Plenty Road. The main display has the most wonderful use of off white shutters and furnishing. We loved the look and it helped us to decide which rooms to put them in and some good fabric ideas for the blinds and sways and to see how the downlights would look. I am actually addicted to visiting this house and I think the poor sales person there thinks he has a sale! We were also in the market for a pool and we got some good ideas from the PD ones at MV, although I think these have closed and new ones now further in to the estate which I havent visited yet. we are selling and moving to the coast, if you know someone who wishes to buy in Mernda Villages, please visit this link http://www.realestate.com.au/property-h ... -107083288 Re: Any good display homes/village to visit in Melb?! 7May 09, 2009 5:52 pm Hey guys, We went to the new M3tricon display homes in Keysborough today as it was their opening day today. At the moment, they've got 2 two storey opened. One of the house was the Lindrum 58sq. OMG that house was incredible!!! I think it's officially my fav house that I've seen . Do yourself a favour and check it out. The SA told me that the base price of that house is $425k and as displayed is $850k . Maybe one day when I"m old, i'll be able to afford this house! The disign is quite similar and standard, but i just love the way M has displayed it, brilliant!! I had to go and take a picture and get some internal elevations of a particular displayed option... PD don't understand words, apparently they need pictures. I didn't have time to get into the M3tricon displays but I had a look at the floorplans online.... two ensuites with a bath! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Yea, they have a guest bedroom on the first floor, full with ensuite. Then they have their master upstairs, bedroom two had double door entry and ensuite with bath like a master. It was pretty impressive . We also went to check out Sierra, only PD and M had houses opened for viewing. They were both decked out really nicely, heaps of new ideas. I loved their backyard landscaping. I took a few photos for future reference . Hoping to head up to Point cook maybe tomorrow to check out the new display houses opening up. Sweety, I have had a look at the M berwick display village. We actually went there alot last year as we were going to build one of the houses there. I remember that they were renovating some of the other houses into new ones, i wonder whether they are still open. But we are abit embarrassed to go there just in case the SA still remembers us Idiots are fun, that's why there is one in every village! - Dr. House - Re: Any good display homes/village to visit in Melb?! 13Nov 25, 2009 2:17 pm Quote: There are some good display villages over in Mernda.. Woodland Waters Mernda Mernda Villages Mernda Laurimar Display villages Doreen Epping Display Village I'll second that. In and around Mernda/Doreen area there would have to be well over 100 display homes within 3 minutes of each other. Laurimar now has 41 of them alone (it says so on the sign ) It also has some of the non volume builders with interesting homes (the Grollo home is a little different to your normal display home). The good thing around the area is that the homes they have sold off have been replaced. I was at Mernda Villages the other day for some inspiration and noticed that most of the old village was sold, but just down the road in the new stage, there was another 25 or so new display homes from various builders. I was quite disappointed with this one - I would have thought with 58sq they would have done something really novel, but alas pretty ordinary. I thought their Imperial was better.
