Door handle and locking system still to be installed but I must admit I got a bit excited when I saw that!!! Next - our portico down lights. We had only put one in the contract however as the roof truss timbers where right in the centre of where the light was scheduled to go it would have to be off centre. Instead we opted for two and will purchase lower brightness globes once we are in so we aren't blinded when we reach the door The remaining photos are of our facade. The cedar battens are all being replaced as the ss is not happy with them (and neither are we). The top ones have been nailed with a HUGE nail gun and consequently have made very obvious holes. The lower ones have smaller nails that are almost invisable. The next lot of cedar will also be a smoothe finish where our current ones are roch - which should give them a nicer more refined look. Can't wait to see them! They are due for deliver today so fingers crossed they are up and looking great for the PCI! We have booked our PCI for Friday...and much to the suprise of our SS we are taking an independant inspector with us just to be sure...I mean you wouldnt buy a $260k car without getting a mechanic to check it out first would you? So thats where we are at - it's all getting very exciting - fingers crossed the PCI goes well and there are no HUGE issues and if there are I hope M fix them promptly and without too much feet stamping!!! Cant wait to get in there, do some saving and then get the entire place rendered as planned! No more yellow bricks for us It will be like getting a whole new house again!!! Hi Aimeh, just wondering if you have an inspection company (or PCA) who is doing all the critical stage inspections for your new house? As my husband and I not sure if we still need an independance inspector to be with us for PCI when we have already had PCA for all critical stages including final inspection? Thanks Re: M Santorini 29 Thread - PCI Friday!!! Thanks Hi Pinklady, We used a local guy, he used to be a builder and now does property inspections. PM me if you would like his details - happy to pass them on. We only had one at our PCI and although there where no issues with our property it was really good to have explain to us that we can and cannot complain about. He provided us with a comprehensive report too, ratnig every "defect" by severity which we provided to M. Where abouts are you located? They are happy to fix all the little things we want and there where lots of things that they listed that where going to be fixed before I even opened my mouth!!! We are getting VERY excited for the house now! It was getting hard to be excited when you where looking critically at the house! But now we are on the home stretch!!! Weather permitting there is only approximately 1.5 days of building works plus the administration time to get our occupancy certificat as soon as our septic installation is approved (everything is at the shire just waiting for the admin process to take its course)! I was however so excited that I didn't get my camera out once...! Sorry guys! But there will be much documentation of the move so I promise there will be final pics My tip is that we will be moving in next weekend - because we will be in Horsham then HAHA! Thank you for your advise. We're in Sydney and our PCI is next Monday according to our admin although we haven't been offically informed yet. Looking forward to it really after almost a whole year waiting. Re: M Santorini 29 Thread - PCI Friday!!! Pic's Update! 86Sep 07, 2010 10:24 am Hey all...I have a problem! Well two actually...! Our hallway downlights are supposed to be in a line (all three) however because of the roof truss we have to have the first two off centre...which is keeping me awake at night LOL So I am thinking of asking M to move them to one of the following two options. The second problem is that we are installing a wood fire into the lounge room, which is making the downlights look offcentre...so I am trying to kill two birds with one stone: Current Electrical Plan : Except the first two lights are not in the centre, the third one in is however in the centre (as the roof truss had ended by then). Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ OPTION ONE: To fix the loungeroom, I would remove the two middle (off centre) lights, leaving only 4 in the lounge, and put them in the first section of the enrty - so two lights either side of the truss. I think 4 lights in the lounge room will be okay as we dont usually have ANY when we watch TV and during the day we have a big sliding door and double windows to let light in. PS: Your more then welcome PinkLady! I know the feeling of waiting, but it will all be a distant memory soon enough!!!
