I really like the facade ALOT Looking forward to seeing it completed. Re: Ready to Move in 2 weeks 17/08/2010- M Santorini 29 63Aug 19, 2010 2:16 pm Thanks Dollar!!! Being in Regional Vic we where able to make quite a few changes which was great! Mind you we did PAY for them!!! The facade is actually the Lumeah Vogue - but instead of the brick wall (which we found a bit obtrusive) we have a window and continuation of the cadar battens!!! ALMOST at handover, carpet is in, doornobs today, plumbing fit off next week, bechtops, QA and finall walk through CANT wait!!! looking forward to posting the finals!!! I was wondering if you posted your floorplan as we too want to make the outdoor room the rumpus. Just wondering how much they charged you to do this also. Re: M Santorini 29 - FIXING COMPLETE!! 65Aug 20, 2010 3:21 pm Hi Ulee, Welcome to Homeone Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ What we did was move the dining room wall out so that the existing santorini outdoor room disappeared, and then just requested the Rumpus room to be made an outdoor room - decking, cedar the works! Although - if I was going to have my time again, I would probarbly see if we could leave the Santorini outdoor room as it is, but make the Rumpus and outdoor room - so you end up with a regular sized dining room as ours is HUGE! This will mean youroutdoor room will be a big square (like ours) but with an L as well - which would be a great second entertaining area perhaps for a BBQ or seating? I think if we ever renovate that will be on the cards for us!!! I don't actuallt think there was a charge to do this - but we where charged for the cedar, additional and bigger window in the Dining room and the sildding doors to the outdoor room. I just love the santorini 29, it was one of the first homes we looked at!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a couple of things that my OH wasnt happy with which is why we went for the Ferrara a G.J Gardner home. But I did change a few things that were inspired by the Santorini Where abouts are you building??????? It looks great so far, you must be very happy. Look forward to more pics. Cheers Janet Re: M Santorini 29 - FIXING COMPLETE!! 67Aug 21, 2010 8:38 am Hi Aimeh, Thanks so much for showing my your plans, it gives us another perspective. We are thinking of turning the outdoor room into a rumpus and taking the rumpus room out altogether and replacing it with a small outdoor room. Our block is bigger on the back right hand side so want to optimise the backyard, and having the rumpus where it is on the standard plan takes up too much yard. I am going to have a look at the display home today and hopefully get some more info, its promising that they didnt charge you to make the change. Overall are you happy with the home so far and do you think the standard inclusions are reasonable. Thanks ulee Re: M Santorini 29 - FIXING COMPLETE!! 68Aug 23, 2010 9:52 am Hey Dexterredcat! We are building at the top of Southern Cross Road in Southern Cross - CANT MISS IT! How about yourself? I have seen a few pop up in our neighbourhood recently!!! It is a lovely spot! We are wrapped with the results! Hoping to be in by the end of the month! I also forgot to mention we are rendering the entire property after handover (much more economical) so our glowing yellow bricks wont be around for ever! Ulee, You are more then welcome! I hope it all goes to plan for you! We found the standard inclusions and the costs of extras quite reasonable. At first we thought paying extra for things like timber window frames was a bit of a rip off ($500) but when you actually get to talk to the painter on site about the costs you soon find out that that the stain alone costs $100 a tin and it takes atleast 3 tins per window to get it right...thats before you buy the timber and the glass for the window as well! So I think that you get a good deal with M And we have been happy with the construction and sales process overall! Very exciting!!! Here are some pics of the work - plus a few quick ones I managed to grab inside!!! Let me know all our thoughts on the mixer being offcentre in the decorative tiles...NOT sure on this one...!!! Our house is the only new one on southern cross road LOL so it will definately be ours!!! we are happy so far but we have noticed a number of things that need fixing prior to us handing over any money! Considering hiring a local inspector to have a look around the place with us during our PCI which should be Tuesday...! Best of luck with your planning permit!!! The fun is about to begin!!! And thanks for your comments Dollar - we love the house too, the feature colours are Dulux How Now and Spiced Nutmed - really warm the place up next to those slate coloured floor tiles that cover the house Building our FIRST HOME - M3tricon Santorini 29 on 2 acres just West of Warrnambool Re: M Santorini 29 Thread - Septic Tank Pics and Kitchen :) 74Aug 28, 2010 5:46 pm Love it, scrolling through this page (4) is like a time laps of your build. Door handle and locking system still to be installed but I must admit I got a bit excited when I saw that!!! Next - our portico down lights. We had only put one in the contract however as the roof truss timbers where right in the centre of where the light was scheduled to go it would have to be off centre. Instead we opted for two and will purchase lower brightness globes once we are in so we aren't blinded when we reach the door The remaining photos are of our facade. The cedar battens are all being replaced as the ss is not happy with them (and neither are we). The top ones have been nailed with a HUGE nail gun and consequently have made very obvious holes. The lower ones have smaller nails that are almost invisable. The next lot of cedar will also be a smoothe finish where our current ones are roch - which should give them a nicer more refined look. Can't wait to see them! They are due for deliver today so fingers crossed they are up and looking great for the PCI! We have booked our PCI for Friday...and much to the suprise of our SS we are taking an independant inspector with us just to be sure...I mean you wouldnt buy a $260k car without getting a mechanic to check it out first would you? So thats where we are at - it's all getting very exciting - fingers crossed the PCI goes well and there are no HUGE issues and if there are I hope M fix them promptly and without too much feet stamping!!! Cant wait to get in there, do some saving and then get the entire place rendered as planned! No more yellow bricks for us It will be like getting a whole new house again!!! Well we went through the property with our independant inspector on Friday and the house is looking great! He is 80% happy with everything and the other 20% is stuff that has not been finished yet. So today is the day we go through with our SS - Can't wait!!! Although the house was all fine, we really apprecaited having the private inspection. He let us know what was and was not acceptable so that was very handy for first home buyers!!! Will post some pics tonight!!! Cannot wait to move in now!! Any yes, the sticker is just some info for M, pretty sure it is an OH and S requirement. Thanks guys! Dexterredcat I do have a question for you - whats this landscaping business you are talking about? Is that after you get your planning permit but before you get your buiding permit?
