Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Simonds Solarbank offer ?? 2Apr 30, 2009 9:09 pm it's interesting topic first, it may sounds very good. yay Free ! you need to pay gst tax. Simonds advised me, i need to pay a few hundred bucks, before they confirmed it was $1,800 then i asked solarbank, solarbank told me it's $1,100. not sure who is correct i might go for that. something that stuck in my mind: several points: 1. Simonds sales told me, Simonds bought Solarbank 2. above reason, hence the solar panel free 3. i rang solarbank, they told me they have agreement with a few big builders (which means, simonds is not the only one who offer solar panel) 4. I cant find any info that simonds bought solarbank (is this just to jack up and make people buying at simonds? i dont know) 5. now solarbank is also offering Free solar panel for any customer (not for particular customer) 6. beware, Solarbank will take your RECs (Renewable energy certificate) which if you have it, you can sell for a few grand (i believe) anyway, if my calculation is right (pls correct me if i am wrong) if you arrange by yourself $12,500 you can get solar panel $8000 gov grant ------- $4500 -$2000 if you sell your RECs endedup $2500 out of pocket, which isn't too bad afterall Final stage Re: Simonds Solarbank offer ?? 3Apr 30, 2009 9:28 pm thanks for your detailed reply....it really helps... I reckon you are right, even I feel Simonds and Solarbank are related in someway, bcos one of the sales staff at solarbank seems to be operating from the simonds office ! i am bit confused regarding RECs. What are they and how does this work ? Solarbank's website states that the energy provider will credit for any excess energy sold to them....sorry this might be a silly question many thanks Was the offer also on their website? If so, you could check the Wayback Machine. 1 1009 |
