Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 30, 2009 12:08 pm After what seems like forever we've finally been approved and the documents are in the mail! We've been doing things a little backward as we were in a rush to get contracts sorted before end of FHOG Boost but they're both done as our loan with St George depended on it. We're building in Warragul, our land settles May 15th and hopefully building will start in June. We're building with Aaaron J Homes and building the RIO 25 with cabana, no other major changes. We had our colour appointment yesterday and here's what we've got: Outside Bricks: Boral Espresso/Flush Off-White Tiles: Boral Striata Ebony Gutter/Facsia/Front Door/Garage: Monument Windows: Black Portico Render/Infills: Jasper Kitchen Lower cupboards/drawers: Laminex Espresso Ligna Bench: Laminex Stipple Cocoa Overhead cupboards: Laminex Peruvian Clay Kickboard: Formica brushed silver Bathrooms Bench: Laminex Espresso Doors/Cabinet: Bleached Reed Floor tiles: New York Stone Feature: Border Gris Broadway Floor Other floor tiles: Stoneware Diamonds Carpet: Flinders Cream - French Toast Paint: Augathella - 50% for doors Some Pics Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: We're Building...Well Soon 2Apr 30, 2009 1:36 pm Congrats! Let the fun begin! We used the New York tile through out love the color but its hard to keep clean go figure! its because its shiny which we didn't know when we did the selection, so the minute u walk on it foot prints everywhere! we are hoping its just because its new! But otherwise the color we love good choice! the rest of the color selection sounds good! Be sure to post more photos when you can! Re: We're Building...Well Soon 3Apr 30, 2009 7:45 pm Colours sound nice. Why does your house elevation have camouflage patterns on it. Does it signify rendering or something? Re: We're Building...Well Soon 4Apr 30, 2009 7:49 pm g'day benji, love your floorplan, can't wait to see some colours on screen (the names mean nothing to me!) and your build overall! congrats, Annie A thankful person is a happy person. We love the floor plan too, I think it's great that all this is squeezed into 25sq, it's our first house and I think we're gonna be pretty happy, it looks so much bigger inside due to the raked ceiling and 2590mm throughout. I'll try post some of the colour samples we don't have them all as they ran out of spares. Ben Re: We're Building...Well Soon 6May 01, 2009 12:25 pm I love your floorplan. Had my first look at Aaron J homes recently and I just love them. Can I make one small suggestion? With your downlights in your dining/casual living area, think about how you'll place your dining table. From the look of the downlight placement, the lights will be at peoples backs as they eat which will throw shadows across the table and that can be a PITA. Rather than have the downlights evenly spaced, I'd think about centring the dining ones over where the table will sit then placing the others over the lounge area. Just a thought. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: We're Building...Well Soon 7May 06, 2009 10:24 pm Congrats Benji we love the Rio too. I'm actually from Warragul but we're building the Sahara 27 with Aaron J in Narre South. Havn't signed the contract yet but its not far off. Was just wondering if you upgraded many things? ie, carpet, bricks, tiles etc... We're trying to get an idea what we're gonna want to upgrade before the colour selection appointment. And anything that you've learnt about Aaron J that you wouldnt mind sharing would be greatly appreciated! Cheers Building Sahara 27 with Aaron J Re: We're Building...Well Soon 8May 21, 2009 10:21 am Sorry for the slow reply, I'm hopeless. I'll have another look at the placement of downlights, I'm quite fussy when it comes to having things lined up though, lol. Sammy, we upgraded a few things, not us much as some others do though. We got: 5x Powerpoint 36x Downlights Cat 2 Carpet Cat 6 Bricks Cat 2 Roof Tiles Couple External Powerpoints + another tap Some border thing in the bathrooms Brivis ICE unit pot drawers And now that I'm adding it up ahhh $$$ lol All good though Benji Re: We're Building...Well Soon 9Mar 28, 2010 9:48 pm Hi Benji, are you building the Rio?
