Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Provincial Homes 681Dec 06, 2023 8:26 pm Anyone building with Provincial Homes at the moment? We continue to struggle with communications - they don’t provide any estimated timeframes and have even told us some of the contract plan images are “generic” and excluded from our build! They reply at the last minute and tell us any changes (due to their lack of exclusions in the contract) will cause several weeks of delays… feels like a tactic to force our hand. Re: Provincial Homes 682Dec 17, 2023 6:47 am Timeframes were always a challenge, but we built during covid/excessive rainfall so it was to be expected. Having said that, it took much longer for our build to complete than we had hoped and it was frustrating and felt like forever at the time. I've been told this is true of even the big mass-market builders at the moment though as one of my friends is having similar delays even now with another much larger builder. The communication with our site supervisor and HO was good. My husband was a micro manager so he had extensive contact particularly with the site supervisor. The site supervisor was always accommodating. In terms of inclusions we got everything that was written in our contract. I would suggest looking at what is listed in the contract as the words, not the pictures, are the legally binding component. As they would already have a lot of the tradies scheduled and lined up in advance if your build has started I think if they didn't have something listed and needed to include it that it logically would cause delays to schedule things in and re-shuffle tradies. We learnt early on in the build it is hard to have multiple trades working on site at the same time because of frames, bricks, roof, etc all being somewhat reliant on other things but that speeds up after lock-up when multiple tradies can be on site working in different areas of the house. I know for us towards the end of the build one of the tradies seemed to muck Provincial around and keep moving their date out ridiculously when there were delays with other tradies and supply disruptions (. Provincial pushed hard to get them back on schedule and were as frustrated as us with them at one point. The Dulux colour consultants are awesome. If you show them the photos they should be able to figure it out for you straight away 1 1640 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 75370 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 106251 |
