Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 29, 2009 4:39 pm I am building with Provincial Homes. I have found them to be very helpful & assist me where they can. Provincial really seem to try & help with my questions & are polite. I have stuck pretty much to their stock standard floor plan & everything has gone smoothly & progressed through council quickly! They are a company however that will also allow you to modify plans (unlike a lot of others) & are quite flexible. My experience so far has been great! Re: Provincial Homes 2Apr 30, 2009 2:04 pm Welcome to the forum There are a few other Provincial's in here too... Where are you building, and which design? I am also building with Provincial homes (Sienna) as well. We have lodged our plans at council last week.... So far we don't have any issues with them... Re: Provincial Homes 4Mar 16, 2010 6:37 pm I talked to Provincial and they were great. The only factor we decided NOT to build with them is just because our estate (Stockland Lakewood) has about 70% of houses being Provincials which, in such concentrations seemed a bit dull to us and we decided to have something different. ... built a Promenade with Clarendon. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=25104 20-10-09 - excavation and piering completed ... 12-04-10 - Basins fixed. One of the reasons why we did not go for it was due to family issue. The other reasons include unreasonable charge for site cost ($30k for 1m drop from side to side )& scaffolding (other builders don't charge it). May I have some idea how you guys are going with this builder. We like the facade the most and can't find any other better houses so far. So if the builder is good, we probably will still go for it later. Re: Provincial Homes 6Nov 03, 2010 1:50 pm Initially they were good however later they keep on sending variation after variation, hard to trust them. Inaddition the site cost is huge as well as scaffolding cost that i havent seen from any other builders. I am planning to cancel the contract. Re: Provincial Homes 7Dec 08, 2010 12:19 pm I'm building with Waverley 34 with Provincial Homes, no issues so far. We just signed an HIA contract this week. Wondering if there is anyone can share the experience with Provincial. It's still our favourate despite of the site cost Re: Provincial Homes 12Mar 03, 2011 5:15 am We are building with Provincial and have just started on the house foundation. I can't comment on the building workmanship yet but I'm sure it can't be as bad as their communication and administration. I leave messages for peopke to call me back, still waiting. We were told things by one worker in the display home upon singing the contract which we just realised are all ******. So now we are very angry. When George called us into a meeting to discuss things, he spoke only to my husband, and when i spoke I was ignored or dismised. I even rang him yesterday and left a message to ring me....no instead he emailed my husband! Re: Provincial Homes 13Mar 03, 2011 7:46 am we liked some of their designed but were greeted with such rudeness from their sales manager we walked away and looked at other companies. In the end it was the right choice for us. Re: Provincial Homes 14May 27, 2011 8:52 pm Hi all, Anyone considering building with Provincial, please be ware: Please save yourself alot of stress and money - PLEASE don't build with provincial. My parents have finally moved into their home...sovereign by Provincial after signing the initial contract 18+ months ago. But the house is still very incomplete, they had many bumps along the way where the builder was not listening to their complains and no one would return their call. Now that they've finally moved in, here's a small list of some things that are still missing... * the hand railing on the balcony on 2nd floor not yet installed, we keep the door locked to avoid someone walking out and falling off ! * live wires hanging from the ceiling as the down lights havn't been installed (it was supplied to them months ago and everything is paid for). * the hot water is not working * some painting work is yet to be done (on skirting for stairs, minimal but still) * Soap dishes which were upgraded and additional money paid for not installed * For some reason they 'thought' we won't require toilet roll holders so none of the 3 bathrooms have toilet roll holders This is very brief list of things that come to mind, its been 2 weeks since moving into the house ! Even now no one wants to return calls and when we do speak to someone, on their database they argue some items were deleted by us, when we refer them to the right page in the contract showing it was to be included and in some cases additional money paid, then they apologies....still no one comes around to do the work. It's been a very painful process building with them and unfortunately the nightmare is still not over even after moving in ! Please consider another builder and save yourselves some heart ache. This is a first hand experience. We've built with AV Jennings, Masterton and Eagle homes in the past...all were smooth, flawless, professional. Re: Provincial Homes 15Dec 02, 2011 2:10 pm Hey guys. We are a young couple and we have just paid our tender to go ahead to draw plans. We are dealing with george and he has been wonderful!! That man is a gem (so far) and i trust he will do the right thing by us! We have gotten tenders and revised 3 times within 2.5 weeks we are in a rush to get the house done and hes helping us 100% to be quick and that i must apprieate. he has stated theres only the extra site costs IF theres anything unexpected. Thats going to hurt but at least we are aware.. he has been a great consultant. I have been into AV jennings MAsterton they were our first choices and OMG were they so rude not just one office but 3 different offices of these companies they dont care at all for first impression. ANYWAYSSSSSSSSS Who else has built are building can you give me an update hows it going anything not included that you thought they were ? anything i need to be prepared for ?? I think ALLLL home builders have misunderstandings thats why ppl buy instead of build haha Hopefully we will be lucky and everything will be perfectly smooth. Provincial has the right price and the upgrades and quality seems perfect. BUT lets seee.... I'd like to know if anyone can give us advice on what to look out for? Also, I'd like to hear about your recent experiences. Regards dave Hi Dave, I built with Provincial Homes a few years back and found them to be very professional and thorough. I have since met a few others that have built with them and they all seem to be quite happy! When we were starting out, we paid a lot of interest into the jacksonbuild blog (link below). This may be of some benefit to you. http://jacksonsbuild.blogspot.com.au/20 ... homes.html Re: Provincial Homes 20Aug 13, 2012 3:24 pm Hi We have built with Provincial nearly an year and half ago, did not had any issues while building.. but now facing lot of issues, having lot of cracks in the formal lounge and study, provincial thinks just a normal maintenance cracks doesn't see to be though.. Did anyone had these types of issues, builder said that's because house is settling down. But still very much worried The Dulux colour consultants are awesome.
