Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 28, 2009 5:46 pm Just thought it might be interesting to see what people budgeted/paid for each room or area in their house - obviously it will be rough. I just took a stab at a budget and came up with the below (based on no research). Kitchen 15.0% Main Bathroom 7.0% WC 2.0% Laundry 3.0% Ensuite 6.0% Master 4.0% WIR 1.5% Lounge 4.0% Decking 4.0% Garage 5.0% 2nd Bed 3.5% 3rd Bed 3.5% Study 3.5% Porch 2.0% Driveway 3.0% Living 10.0% Meals 8.0% Landscaping 5.0% Other 10.0% Re: Cost % per Room 2Apr 28, 2009 5:52 pm 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Re: Cost % per Room 5Apr 28, 2009 9:57 pm You will have to rephrase your question, or explain it further, because to be dead honest, it makes no sense However, what's more interesting is this question: How much money did you spend in each room of the house for furnishings/electrical products etc..? Re: Cost % per Room 6Apr 29, 2009 10:33 am Sorry, this is more of an owner builder question. Those using a builder wouldn't need to do this sort of budgetting. Re: Cost % per Room 7Apr 29, 2009 1:55 pm hey connie, ob here... i think your better off maybe looking at areas like foundations electrical plumbing cabnetmaker frame roof bricky...etc the major stuff then go into more detail ie- 3k to fit out bathroom 5k for kitchen appliances etc etc... i dont think its worth racking your brain over % for each room in your house bext bet go and get 3 quotes for each thing you need, then base your bidget on that being an ob takes lots of research, especially if you dont wana get ripped off! 1) I had requested R6 ceiling insualtion batts, however I noticed that on some areas there are huge gaps which will allow hot air to sweep in, and also noticed black/grey… 0 3476 Hey, I am wanting to add a second toilet to my house, bit we have limited room.
