Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 25, 2009 7:50 pm Hi there, Just wondering what is the normal practice of a leaking ceiling. We're currently at the end of our build and found that the ceiling in the garage was leaking. I had told our building supervisor and found that there was two roof tile missing, so they fixed it. Now it had rained quite a lot so there was some water damage to the ceiling. After a few weeks, I came back to the place and noticed that they hadn't replaced the ceiling, they had just painted it over again. Are they suppose to take the ceiling off and re-plaster it back? Just wuold like to know and I'm going to settlement soon and I don't want to get handed over a doggy piece of work. Can someone please let me know if the builder is required to replace the water damaged ceiling. Thanks Re: HELP...Leaking ceiling!!! 2Apr 25, 2009 10:33 pm As far as I know it is normal practice to simply paint over the spot unless the ceiling boards are warped or cracked. But then again, my handle should tell you how much my answer is worth Trying this building gig one more time.
