If that's right it seems odd to have the rumpus so close. I agree but it is just another living area. May end up being the family area or may have a pool table in. Re: Latest floor plans - Mk3 6Apr 24, 2009 9:18 pm I like the changes. Were you considering having a garage in the future next to the bed 1/ensuite? If so, what about putting the window in the toilet behind the cistern so that you won't have to worry about that ending up in the garage in future. You could also run the wall between the rumpus and entrance a little further along so that it gives you a little more privacy depending on what that room is going to be used for. Just a couple of thoughts but otherwise I reckon you're pretty right to get started!! Re: Latest floor plans - Mk3 7Apr 25, 2009 8:24 am Looking goood Metter... I'd possibly push the toilet window inline with the toilet door in the ensuite... Depends if you want a view or not really!!! Possbily consider a standard door, rather than a slider in the laundry... You can then push the washing machine right into the corner... You can always put a 600 or 900 window above bench height... I really think you should remove the nib wall in the hall way(near the WIP).. It really doesn't do anything, and looks strange. Probably make the hallway doors both open in the same direction, rather than current opposite left to rights.. Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Re: Latest floor plans - Mk3 8Apr 25, 2009 9:01 am chuth77 Looking goood Metter... I really think you should remove the nib wall in the hall way(near the WIP).. It really doesn't do anything, and looks strange. Hi Chuth77, Thanks for all you suggestions. With the nib wall, not sure, the opening will be a square arch. Would that look worse if on one side it just went to the WIP wall? Re: Latest floor plans - Mk3 9Apr 25, 2009 9:14 am Depends on what height the arch is? Any reason why you want an arch, and notjust have it open? I think even with an arch, it won't be as inviting as if the nib wall wasn't there... The size of the opening will look like a door was planned to go there but changed during late construction... Just my thoughts anyway...I like clean minimalistic lines... Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder... Mainly the building part!! Of course rumpus storage cupboard would have to move - perhaps to the other side or make full wall of storage in liveing room? Or just swap them over - so liveing storage is at the front and rumpus storage behind. Re: Latest floor plans - Mk3 11Apr 25, 2009 11:44 am Looks like the plan is nearly finished, no robe to bed 2? Helyn I am still keen on my previous suggestion of moving entry to other side of the rumpous room. Not a bad idea but I don't like the front door looking straight into the kitchen, personal opinion only. I'm not sure how it differs much to where the door is currently. Because, when you open the door in it's current position, you'll see the kitchen to your left anyway.
