Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 24, 2009 10:01 am Hi guys, I have been absent from the forum for a while. We bought our block in Hawkstowe estate approx 12 months ago, and have have been to tender with two builders (S1monds and H3nley) and are now ready for site start with Porter Davis. Site start is scheduled for Monday 27 April (and handover scheduled for January 2010 fingers crossed). **note, just got an sms from our future neighbour to say that we have a tap, toilet and wire rubbish skip** how very exciting! Our block is on Hawkstowe Parade, overlooking the park/bbq area. We love the estate and can't wait to move in. Also looking to meet some of the other residents in the estate prior to moving in, so any fellow Hawkstowe people, feel free to drop me a message. He have settled on the Rowland 35 with the alfresco option. I will get a blog up and running asap so fellow forumites (and friends and family from WA) can follow our progress. They have poured the concrete piles, and placed the screw piles. I expect they will set out the waffle pods and pour the slab this week. It is all very exciting. While we were there we met with our neighbour who is near completion with S!monds. They have had no end of trouble throughout their build. Fingers crossed they can get it all sorted and get their keys soon. Built in now city 2009, now moving to the country to embark on another build. Re: Building in Hawkstowe- 12May 07, 2009 6:28 pm gizben Were in woodland waters just up the road. I know im jumping into your post but there isnt a woodland waters one! I like the entrance to Hawkstowe, very classy! Well you are nearly a neighbour lol! Are you in your house yet? Always looking to meet more people from the area. I actually like all the estates around South Morang/Mernda they have all done a good job with landscaping and maintaining the 'natural/country' feel. The lake and bridge in Woodland Waters is great. I actually used to go in their quite a bit, as we were building the Parkside 35 with Simonds and the Display is in Woodland Waters. You won't need your own bbq - you can just nip across the road. Save on gas. And cleaning. Re: Building in Hawkstowe- 14May 07, 2009 10:02 pm No I'm afraid our house isn't finished just yet, just passed lockup. Won't be too long though. I actually havnt walked around anywhere yet, I want explore the area when I move in. The only thing missing in the area for myself is a bp service station, I'm picky with my fuel. You will be in your house before you know it! Re: Building in Hawkstowe- 15May 08, 2009 8:11 am kek Good-looking pipes you have there. Saw them on Tuesday when I was out for a walk..... It is always useful to have some 'spies' in the area to keep us updated on the progress of our home! I am fortunate to have already met our neighbours who are close to handover with their 'Simonds Parkside' next to me. Feel free to drop buy and say hi if you see us admiring our block if we get out there on the weekend to take some more photos! I doubt I'll be about this weekend. Apart from the weather, I have clients Saturday morning, social plans Saturday arvo and Mothers' Day stuff on Sunday....busy! I'm sure I'll see you around at some point though. If you ever happen to spot some crazy woman at the park doing sprints and pushups and mountain climbers, that'll be me. Have already earmarked one of the new bedrooms as our 'gym'. At the moment in a 2 bedroom apartment we don't have the space.
