Hi,
We took the extended option on the PD Davenport house and it cost $3901 plus the upgraded slab on the floor. We will deck after handover. I believe it really makes this area. Go got it if you can!
Cheers

As joles said, both have advantages and diadvantages and it is a case of weighing them up and making a personal choice. For us we have selected to upgrade ours for entertaining reasons, and because I personally like the seamless look, however, I have also seen some really nice pergolas. Goodluck with the decision. Re: Larger Alfresco ? 23Apr 21, 2009 11:41 pm The decision for us has been purely financial. The area that we intended to use for entertaining is biggish (will try to get dimensions) and Masterton quoted us almost $20k to build an alfresco! We decided to just have the area paved or concreted/stencilled when we're doing our driveways and we'll build a pergola over it a bit down the track. Your quote sounds very reasonable. After a quick chat lastnight with DW it looks like it should be a goer! I want to go to our the block and measure out the size difference first but, as this will give us both a better idea of just how much of an improvement it will be and put our mind at ease at the extra-stretch on the budget.
