Hi all
My soil report is pretty good. M class & slight fall to front right side of block. So, it is higher at the back and left side of the block. I have a large block that will be prone to water run off (if we get any rain in the next 10 years). Engineers make reference to it in the report. Report recommends both waffle & raft. I would like my house to be up out of the ground a fair bit. I don’t like to see houses right down on the ground, when they are finished it looks like they are in a dip or hole. In my case this will be a major problem with the water run off.
What can be done to lift the house up? If I go with a waffle will it be up higher out of the ground. Can I add to the footings to raise it up? How much? I don’t know what cut they will do, yet, but there will be some. If I can keep the cut to a minimum that should help. I don’t want the builder to tell me, I need to pay more money for concrete to lift it up. I feel if they do the cut at a minimum & carefully it will help solve the problem. But they usually just go crazy and go deep into it till they get it flat, even if you are down in a hole. Any one else had this problem, some suggestions please. Any comment or help is much appreciated.
Cheers
