Southies, House-to-be, Stormy and Photogirl - your houses all have the same dark bricks and roof with light accents that I'm planning and they look fantastic! phew! Stormy - we're thinking we'll get the full sized bricks, although the small ones are great because they're rare - you know your house will stand out if you have them! what turned me off them was mainly that Henley say they'll only use them for the front of the house and regular size for the rest off the house and I was worried it would look sill because we're on a corner. also.. london blend are already the most expensive bricks we could get and the roman version are more expensive still! - we're going to get the Byron facade. I love the long thin windows. * I should really start a blog or thread so I can put plans and pictures up - I just don't really have much to show or say yet! Annie - a few people have mentioned the heat issue and I think it's a very good one to consider. we live on the top of a four story brick appartment block at the moment and don't have an air conditioning at all. Apart from those 40+ days we don't usually even bother to turn the fan on. We're used to it! In fact - I often find other people's air conditioned house too cold! When we were visiting the display homes in summer I always had to remember to bring a jumper! We are getting evaporative cooling though, so even if it's hot with a little cooling i think we'll be fine. I know we have insulation (everyone has to be 5 star energy rating and that is unachievable without it) but i don't know yet how much or what kind. I guess in winter we'll need less heating, too!
