We have found our dream house with Premier and are now planning to build on our block after demolition/relocation of the existing dwelling. Currently our site costs are around $22000 due to H class slab, retaining wall, root barrier, excavation and area surcharge. The soil test stated that either a root barrier or deeper footings were necessary due to large trees on our property - but a quote was not forthcoming for deeper footings(told far too expensive) and it was suggested that if we did not want to part with the $7500 for the root barrier we should cut our trees down! If anyone has had a similar situation or can help we would really appreciate it. Thanks, Leanne I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this.
