Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Homebuyers Centre - Perth 21Apr 20, 2009 9:53 pm Sounds like you were very lucky getting to find that file. did you note paint colours as well. It's amazing how many people over east I've noticed are really keen on certain paint colours in the display but when they ask no one knows what was used. Good luck with your prestart. It's exciting finding a few more perth people who are on here and beginning the build process. Re: Building with Homebuyers Centre - Perth 22Apr 20, 2009 10:21 pm The file was in one of the prestart drawers. Yes, it had listed paint, tapware, tiles, facade colours, insulation (everything!) for every display home. I think all builders should show you so you can make the best decisions. I was told I could get all this info from the prestart consultant at the prestart meeting, but I think its too late by then! I was glad to find the file, but didn't have the guts to ask if I could photocopy it, so I copied it all down on paper instead My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Building with Homebuyers Centre - Perth 23Apr 21, 2009 10:35 am kirsada rex: 5 weeks to get a prestart interview...OMG. We have had our prestart folder since 22nd March and I was hoping to get it done soon so I don't have to think about colours any more, it is driving me insane The frustrating thing is that I tried to ask our sales rep for a rough idea on timing (weeks, months) and his reply was "Oh, haven't you booked your prestart yet, someone will be in touch with you". Yes my wife is losing her mind trying to decide colours etc hehe. I think she knows what she wants, just need to find out if we can upgrade to Laminex Diamond-Gloss. Also need to know if we can choose Laminex for cupboards. We're building with SPH, and we had to approach them to book pre-start ourselves so waiting for your builder to ask when you want to do pre-start might not not be a good idea. Some things you have to take charge of Our valuation is done tomorrow, and we'll find out if we're building or living with the in-laws longer than we'd like! Re: Building with Homebuyers Centre - Perth 24Apr 21, 2009 8:32 pm Hmmm got a phone call today and was told that they were going to do a soil test soon ....geee it's such a slow process isn't it! It's been nearly 2 months since we signed preliminary agreement. Hehe I think we should all get together and build these darn houses ourselves Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! Ours took about 2 weeks. Who is your builder? That is outrageous. The homebuyers centre! Who are you building with? Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! I know SPH are very busy, and I'd hazard a guess Homebuyers are even busier but still... 2 months for a soil report is more than excessive imo. Yeah I think most builders would be run off their feet at the moment. I just hope I havent left it too late Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! I just emailed my sales rep to see if we have had a soil test and what the result was (I did ask him weeks ago but his communication is dreadful). Turns out we did have one done, without our knowledge, 3 weeks after signing the prelim on the 27th Feb!! Soil classification was A - don't know what that means?? On a happier note - our mortgage broker told me that we should have our formal finance approval by the end of this week BUILT with Homebuyer's Centre - Aussie Alfresco Games viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16668 Moved In - Dec 14th Painting all but done - Jan 11 Front Landscaping - Feb 8 Moved In PICS Page 43 Re: Building with Homebuyers Centre - Perth 31Apr 23, 2009 11:06 am SOR in Wellard BUILT with Homebuyer's Centre - Aussie Alfresco Games viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16668 Moved In - Dec 14th Painting all but done - Jan 11 Front Landscaping - Feb 8 Moved In PICS Page 43 Re: Building with Homebuyers Centre - Perth - $$$$ soon 32Apr 23, 2009 1:18 pm kirsada Hmm interesting topic. The sales guy forgot to add the 2% on to the total and so he told me it was going to be $1975 more....aftr I went silent (through shock) he then went on to say he would wear the $1000 and we had to come up with the $975.00 I tell ya, nothing goes right for me ever I reckon the HBC should wear the mistake! Oh, I bet if YOU'D forgotten to put something in there then they would say " Hahaha, you already signed! No changing things now!" Is there anything in the contract that states that they CAN add things they forgot? If not, make them wear the whole cost! My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! I think they are allowed to change things but I am going to look into it. You are completely right with if I had forgotten something they would say "tough luck" grrrr Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! But if it was the final contract, boy would someone be in trouble! Do look into it though, and let us all know how it goes. It might even be worth writing a letter anyway, saying that while they were still able to add things and stuff up, it doesn't do much for their reputation. Word of mouth is very powerful. Good luck! P.S. I think we all need to get bumper stickers made up saying "I'm a member of Homeone forum. Your stuffups WILL be discussed, so watch out!" and then stick them on our houses (and contracts!) just to make sure they know that a large number of people (not just the owner) are aware of some of the stupid things they think they can get away with. Hehe I love the bumper sticker idea Yes I will definitely send them a letter. I think that is a great idea. It's not my fault, the salesman was sweet in taking half the cost but hey I am sure it wont be him wearing it. They will probably get it out of us some other way Thanks for the ideas I appreciate it Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! It better be more like $4000 or I will be mad! Keep in mind Im not building with HBC, and different builders can (and do) charge differently on possibly the same lot!! Is your block flat? Is there trees etc on it? Rubbish? Is your siteworks itemised? Maybe they had to do extensive soil tests, as mine would of been under $4k if a soil test wasn't done (but the engineer felt it was necessary apparantly). Yes well there solution is to blame everyone else while I a 65yr old woman with major medical problems have to just continue to boil water and wash myself in a bucket… 2 16104 If you make sure all taps inside and out are turned off, what does the water meter show if you leave it for a while. 2 20363 13 6765 |
