He said it was just bliss and worth every penny as the company agreed to clean it to the RE agents' standards and if not they come back and fix it. Sometimes paying the money is worth it. He got a good price too I think. Not sure who or where or how much, but it was low enough for me to think "hey, that's more than worth it". Might be worth looking into? My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Kirsada's house - NEED AIR CON NOW!!!! 884Jan 18, 2010 10:21 pm we just asked the agents who they use for carpet cleaning when w e moved out last year. That way we got something done to their standard. BUT we did our own window washing. cleaning, gardening. I've also in the past used an agents gardening crew recommendation ( Weeding Women=they were brilliant.)and the agency clean. ( i was recovering from major surgery at the time and couldn't do much myself) Re: Kirsada's house - NEED AIR CON NOW!!!! 885Jan 19, 2010 10:50 am Yeah, I know what you mean. I wish we could have afforded to pay someone to do the dirty work, but we needed the money for the new house!! I wish we could have afforded to pay someone to do the dirty work, but we needed the money for the new house!! This is what i'll be tossing up over... whether to get someone in to clean the place professionally or do it myself *sigh*... i'll probably end up doing the gardens myself... I dunno... i think i'll put it in the *too hard* basket I may get one of those split system air cons later down the track... have to look at the costs tho!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Re: Kirsada's house - NEED AIR CON NOW!!!! 887Jan 19, 2010 2:07 pm i share your pain! we got 2 quotes for breezeair $3400 installed for evap 8 outlets and then some other brand name for $3800 for evap 8 outlets.. havent got to serious about it as dont have the cash yet but seems to be around the going price Harrisdale backyard finally done! Re: Kirsada's house - NEED AIR CON NOW!!!! 888Jan 19, 2010 3:00 pm I'm just going to do what I do now, and suffer through summer with just a fan. Much cheaper, and there's usually only a few completely unbearable nights. I have a wall unit in the living room now, and might get one in the new place, but not for a long time. My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Kirsada's house - NEED AIR CON NOW!!!! 889Jan 19, 2010 3:36 pm We put into our contract a split system reverse cycle air conditioning.. so we have heat as well. It would of been a couple of grand cheaper after for sure but it would of just been one more thing on a list too long lol. So we managed to fit it in there. Yeah it was awesome having a cleaner this time. Usually I have had to do all the cleaning and no joke it takes a week of scrubbing etc and then the RE always come back with a list of things. Even though we averted a near disaster this time with cleaners.. the first one was a complete joke so we refused to pay. House was dirtier. We were so lucky that our carpet cleaning people were bond cleaners as well so they found someone to come and do it same price. Lucky cause our RE was coming that afternoon. Yes the good thing is if the RE find anything the cleaners just come back. But lucky for us we passed.. which was fabulous. Much less stress. We were already exhausted from packing and moving some stuff to here and all that entails. Kat Re: Kirsada's house - NEED AIR CON NOW!!!! 891Jan 20, 2010 10:54 am I organised the air-con yesterday! I couldn't take another day of non-functioning and refused to bear it any longer I think we have to check if we have insulation because our house was like an oven. Miss_P those prices sound great, just make sure you get a unit with enough power. We ended up getting a 190 size Harmony model Breezair with 9 outlets which cost $5800. Unfortunately, we had to do interest free option which means the price goes up If we had taken out a loan, it would of been more like $5000 but then the interest would have killed us. You can't win. What model did you get quoted for? AND, forgot to say, it will be installed next WED!!! Our Breezair was installed on Wednesday and we are loving it. Such a good buy and we took advantage of the 24month interest free payment scheme. On a more negative note, we just got a letter from Keystart RE increase to interest rates ((((( Oh well, what can you do. Re: Kirsada's house, WA - Loving the AIR CON!!!! 895Jan 29, 2010 10:11 pm Do you mind me asking what your rate has gone up to? My bank did the same (Bankwest) a couple of weeks back, and i'm not pleased to hear that there'll be another rate rise shortly too... On a positive note, EXCELLENT about your aircon Kirsada!!! Must be lovely and cool in your place now Did you get one of those ones that heat as well as cool? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man.
