Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 15, 2009 7:40 pm hi there we are having a concrete pool installed next to the house (the kitchen, family and alfresco wrap around it) unfortunately we have found out from our site super that the pool people have put the pool 100mm too high. So instead of being slightly lower it's now slightly above the house. As a result the house has to be built up a course and we have to get council approval again. Just wondering where we stand legally? ie is the pool company now liable to cover the extra cost and compensate for delay? has this happened to anyone else? thanks about to build our first home! Re: pool at wrong level - what to do? 2Jul 15, 2009 9:15 pm I would be certainly be approaching the pool company for compensation due to time that will be wasted (and any costs incurred). These costs will obviously be cheaper to the pool company than replacing the pool ! Just make sure you have the facts first. Make sure the pool company had all necessary levels issued to them (ie external finished levels). Blog is now up - http://www.jbdave.blogspot.com/ Re: pool at wrong level - what to do? 3Jul 15, 2009 9:46 pm As long as they had all the correct info and the builders have not changed anything then the pool company should cover it Re: pool at wrong level - what to do? 4Jul 15, 2009 10:20 pm thanks - yes, we made sure that they had the plans with all the correct measurements and even double checked three times - ie sent plans through, emailed and met on site prior. That's why it was such a surprise that they still stuffed up. We're hoping that they will be fair and reasonable. If not, is it SPASA that I contact? thanks about to build our first home! 2 31421 there is only 20% difference in concrete strength between 20 mpa and 25 mpa, so check with your engineer first if it fits his calculation tolerances.
