I visited the new Bentley display homes in Laurimar today, which only opened this weekend. They look fab - good quality workmanship. Any more progress on the house? Re: The house O'Lostris KITCHEN IN! 21/09/09 83Sep 27, 2009 6:17 pm Loving your kitchen, Lostris! Bentley have some great designs and I was impressed by their quality when we went through their displays at Mernda a while back. Can't wait to see some more pics.... Re: The house O'Lostris KITCHEN IN! 21/09/09 84Sep 29, 2009 8:18 pm Hey, Rowena, we went through on Sunday as well, just for a bit of a sticky beak. The only thing that has happened in the last week is the painting has been done, but I think its only the undercoat. Its hard to tell, the colour we picked is white and so is the undercoat! I'm possibly going to have a bit of a battle with the CSO though about how the cabinetmaker has done the overhead cupboards though. We specified horizontal grain for the feature colours, but the cabinet maker has made the doors so the grain doesn't line up across the different doors, so they are all wonky. I work for a cabinet maker and know that it is very easy to make them line up, but the cabinet maker has been slack and probably just used scrap bits of board, not cut it out of one piece and then edged them. The CSO said that we specified horizontal so they are not going to change them, but I sent an email back stating that the cabinet maker has done it wrong and how he should have done it, so we'll see how that goes Built with Bentley homes in Doreen All moved in Dec 2009 Now for the garden! The painting is all done inside too, they just need a couple of touch ups that they are doing at the end. The shower bases have been formed as well but we noticed that they had made the ensuite one 200mm too narrow, which I'm not happy with I've sent them an email to let them know its wrong, hopefully they wont give me any grief. Anyways, here is some photo's for you all! I'm sure that Bentley will fix the shower issue. If it is not set out as per plan, then they really can't argue with you. How did you go with the grain of overhead cuboards? Did that get sorted? The front door looks great!! Are you guys going to do anything to front facade? You should check out http://www.studiom.com.au and muck around on "envisage". It has so many options and colours. Best of luck, Lostris! The house is looking wonderful!! Building in Promenade Estate, Doreen Re: The house O'Lostris NEW CABINET PICS! 01/10 88Oct 01, 2009 8:46 pm Thanks guys Poochie, its still getting looked into. I argued with the CSO that it is a quality issue, not a selection issue like she tried to tell me. On closer inspection today it looks like the cabinet maker may have made it to line up, but the idiot installer has installed the doors back to front and upside down, so the don't line up You would think they would check huh? I think we may leave the portico as it is for the moment, I'm not a huge fan of render or feature stack stone. We are having the caoba garage door which will add a lot of colour and texture to the front, and I'm planning on having a more detailed garden. If the front has a lot going on it may look too busy. But I think I'll wait till the end to make that call for sure, I may change my mind Built with Bentley homes in Doreen All moved in Dec 2009 Now for the garden! I guess you can always hold back payment if you aren't completely happy? I agree, the timber door will give the house a different effect. Look forward to hearing about how the shower issue gets resolved! As for kitchen cupboards, if not specified, do they get fitted with grain flowing vertically? I think you have had some fantastic ideas. And the bin!!! Wow!!! Building in Promenade Estate, Doreen Re: The house O'Lostris NEW CABINET PICS! 01/10 90Oct 01, 2009 9:22 pm yeah the grain will be vertical. So when are we going to see these colour selections anyway?!?!??!? Built with Bentley homes in Doreen All moved in Dec 2009 Now for the garden!
