Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 13, 2009 4:09 pm Hi guys, having just started my build with Dennis Family homes im counting down the days already. My question for those who has built with Dennis how long was the building period? They have said 215 days or 30 weeksin contract. It seems like alot to me but ive been told will roughly take 20 weeks provideing everything goes well. Be good to hear your thoughts Re: DFH Build time? 2Apr 13, 2009 4:30 pm Hi Mark, We have been told by DFH (on a casual verbal basis) that normal build time is 20 weeks. With the usual disclaimer about 'all going well' But a few people have had builds of 16 and 17 weeks with DFH. I'm unsure of their home size. We are planning on building the Elmhurst 23 with DFH and I would hope they could build it around the 20 week mark. Hopefully someone who is further down the process will be able to help a bit more What house are you building? Good luck! We have a house in Doreen. Built the PD Kensington 24 (with Alfresco & Rumpus option). We are in...Decorating in progress...pics to come soon... Re: DFH Build time? 4Apr 13, 2009 8:33 pm mark_23 Building the Harvad27 good luck with yours where you building? We are building in Eminence Estate which is in the suburb of Doreen. We have been talking a lot to the DFH office in Lyndhurst as they have the Elmhurst on display and we really like a lot of things about that display (e.g. bricks, roof tiles, wall colours, tiles etc etc). I think when we actually start the initial process through to contract stage (which I believe is about a 12 week process, is that right?) we will go with that office as they have been great. Our contract for the Latrobe states 211 days (30 weeks) - was hoping to get in before Christmas but still waiting on council approval and some type of 5 star energy rating certificate.. Our sales rep said construction can take as little as 3 months and the contracted time is irrelevant as they would prefer to finish the home sooner.!
