Re: Trinity by Henley 3Apr 13, 2009 5:56 pm DARING2Build Planning to build Monterey 383 with H we loved this plan! especially the way you keep finding new rooms as you walk through it. it's really open but also manages to have some nice hallways and seperate sections for bedrooms. It didn't work for us because we wanted our living areas on the opposite side to our garage - our driveway is on the south side of our lot and we wanted northern sun to come into our living and casual room windows. we've made some changes to the trinity that actually end up being very similar to yours. Re: Trinity by Henley 4Apr 13, 2009 6:16 pm Beebie, nice plan. A lot of similarities to M3tricon's Grandview that we nearly built. One little suggestion... I'd swing the front door to the other side so it doesn't block the main bedroom doorway when it's open. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Re: Trinity by Henley 6Apr 13, 2009 6:35 pm i just looked at the grandview. it is very similar. except the grandview has an amazingly big pantry! f much?! i wanted a butler pantry but couldn't get it in the end. but i have got quite a big pantry so it'll be alright. so long as all my modular mates fit and look bee-oot-iful when i open the door, I'm happy. Re: Trinity by Henley. comments on plan welcome 14Apr 14, 2009 5:40 pm Oh, that's what we did, too - our house has an ensuite to every bedroom, but no bath in the standard plan!!! 5 bathrooms, with no bath???? So we added one to our ensuite, which our younger 2 use occasionally, as well! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Trinity by Henley. comments on plan welcome 15Apr 14, 2009 5:46 pm that's PD right? i thought that was so strange when i first saw they had so many plans with millions of bathroom and no baths. i was looking a few of their plans originally and asked outright.. if this is a 5 bedroom house, then surely you expect there to be children living here, won't they need a bath? small children and babies don't shower! (i just got an image of a baby taking a shower, so funny, in my mind it's that dancing baby that used to be on ally mcbeal) they told me most people don't want baths so it has to be an extra. and since then i've seen heaps of plans without baths, so maybe they're right? for me, there has to be a children's bath (but i'm happy for them to share) and my own bath, which will be toy free -- i dont actually have children yet but the plan is in place! and i'm a nanny so i've seen a million toy filled baths and want my ensuite to be more about candles and bath salts than wind up whales and squirty ducks. Re: Trinity by Henley. comments on plan welcome 17Apr 14, 2009 5:55 pm I must confess that since we moved into our new house 6 months ago, no-one has yet used the bath other than washing the dog So, no point haveing a bath in ensuite for me - although I agree, it is very strange for houses aimed at families to not have a bath in them at all Re: Trinity by Henley. comments on plan welcome 18Apr 14, 2009 6:00 pm Ari Can they swing the laundry door the other way so that it doesn't block the cupboard? they probably could but we're getting cupboards put in all along that other wall too (i should have added that to the drawing -oopsps!)... i thought about this too but i figured more storage was the better trade-off against having to shut the door to get to it. I'm planning to keep things that don't get used too often in the left side of the cupboard. ie. picnic gear, tents, spare linen etc. and everyday towels and linen on the right side. do you guys think that would work? helyn: that's just it! apparently i'm in the minority thinking it's a necessity for an ensuite! i honestly thought it was the norm! who'd have thunk it? still, for your dog maybe it is a necessity! did anyone ask him(her?)?
