Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 13, 2009 8:41 am OK - so we have decided that we are not going to continue with W%ncr#&t due to a clause they insist on having in their contract. We quite like some of the designs that Masterton & Clarendon have. Masterton seem to have a fairly good reputation with regards to build time and quality. So I am hoping that anyone building with Clarendon in Sydney can give me some feedback. I have been following a few of the threads -Heathen especially as I park across the road from your house twice a week . So we are after some (or any) information: - Were you happy with the length of time the build took? - Are you happy with the quality of the build? - Would you build with them again? Any other information you would like to provide would be great. Thanks everyone Re: Feedback on Clarendon 3Apr 13, 2009 7:06 pm Read this thread : http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=7971&hilit=slowest+builder & this one : http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5726 Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Feedback on Clarendon 6Apr 14, 2009 11:03 pm - Were you happy with the length of time the build took? Nooooooo - first enquiries were made March 2007, contract signed July 2007, moved in DECEMBER 2008!!!! - Are you happy with the quality of the build? Yes, I don't expect perfection, but am happy - no major problems have reared up as yet. - Would you build with them again? be prepared for a verrry bumpy ride Surfshak Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: Feedback on Clarendon 7Apr 17, 2009 10:48 am Hi Surfshak,
I don't think we would ever build again with any company, it has been a very long long journey, I know some people have had a great experience building but we have not really. Saying that though I'm sure we'll be happy with our new house it's just that it has been sooooo long getting to this stage and getting council approval was the easy part. With the actual build it really has'nt taken that long yet, our build started on 3rd Nov last year and there have been a lot of rainy days so I guess it's not too bad, it was all the hassle's and delays before the build which had us very frustrated. I can't really sum it up properly until we move in and see the actual final quality of the thing and the final amount of time it takes. The tradies have mostly been very good and they work very fast. I guess Rome was'nt built in a day. If you would like to pm me for other details please feel free. Re: Feedback on Clarendon 8Apr 17, 2009 11:37 am Hello i am building with Clarendon and have gone through the whole process with them. Bang for buck, quality, value for money its very very hard to go past them. The tradesmen offer good quality of work from what I have seen so far. They are slow because of the heavy load they took, but i dont think they have that kind of work anymore. Example take the promenade or crestmead in terms of size, look appeal, design and ask another builder to come up with a equivalent size home for similar cost. You will soon realise what i mean. The SS that Clarendon has are good I think and keep up good communications. They have build my place slow no doubts about that but all things put on the table I would still build with them. regards Arun Buildling a Clarendon Crestmead in Sydney DA Approved on 20/03/2008 Slab Poured on 02/09/2008 Frame Completed 15/10/2008 Brickwork Complete 2/02/2009 Roofwork Complete 05/03/2009 the stair balustrades?
