The lower roofs look almost done so hopefully next week they will start gyprocking. I'm assuming before they do this they have to put the doors in and lock up? Can anyone confirm? Lizzy - found your blog finally. I was searching the pages only for Masterton in the subject. Your house is huge and looks fabulous. The lockup will occur after gyprocking is done. I am surprised that your inspector passed the bricks - maybe they were within the tolerances Masterton Crystal MK1 Split Level Blacktown CC Paid $2.5k end Sept; Frame 14 Apr; viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32025&hilit=ekman Re: Building the Santorini Grande: pics. 205Jun 15, 2010 10:31 pm SunshineT Does the inspection and being within tolerances put your mind at ease? Hmm... I was sure I posted a response to this last week but seems H1 has eaten it up! To be honest T, not that happy with the result at all. It may be within tolerances but aesthetically it's still pretty poor. On the upside, I've kind of come to terms with it and from across the street it's hardly noticeable. Hopefully once it's all been finished and cleaned and the landscaping is done etc it will not be so obvious. ekman Lizzy - found your blog finally. Hey Lizzy, just had a chance to read through your whole blog, how exciting and also frustrating. Im getting ready to jump on the rollercoaster of building. Hoping for at least the start of a slab next week. Had hoped for this week but it wasnt to be!! Will keep a close eye on the progress, at least you have the end in site! Our SS used to be in charge with your frame work perhaps it the reason why we have similar issues spotted by our building inspector. Today I've sent an email to Masterton NSW Regional Construction Manager that we disagree about the other issues not being rectify because we have not received any replies from our SS & CC and told them to explain why they're not doing it. They've said they will put his report into consideration but PCA has the final say. Whay do they mean that PCA has the final say??? If they don't resolve this issue asap we'll lodge a complaint to the office of fair trading. We are very disappointed at the moment the way they handle these so called "minor issues by nature" or should I say Defects. Did you speak with your building inspector about the issues and seek for any assistance? Huge progress on your build Lizzy. Good luck with everything. I agree with you about the front bricks...shocking workman ship by the brickies. Re: Building the Santorini Grande: pics. 209Jun 28, 2010 3:58 pm Not much to report by way of progress. *sigh* Masterton have agreed to rectify all but one of the defects identified bymy building inspector- at least that's good news. The outstanding one is not a significant concern for us. The slow progress though just fills me with despair. 5 months 3 days since slab and we are still waiting for gyprocking to be installed; let's not even talk about when we might make it to lock up. I don't understand. Do we have a big "Delay" stamped on our file?? It took us a full year to go from first tender to slab. And now this? WTF?! I was wondering how you were getting on... That is strange that just about everything for you seems to take longer than other builds... But super news that MH are rectifying almost all the defects. Did you end up sending the angry letter? Who did you send it to in the end? That can't be normal. We ended up sending the angry letter on the weekend directly to our CC. We thought we should at least raise our concerns with her and give her the opportunity to help us. If we get no resolution this week then we'll escalate it up. Just very angry about the whole thing now which is why we took days to settle the letter. We wanted it to be measured and factual rather than angry and emotional. Fingers crossed someone actually reads it! Hi Lizzy, Sorry to hear about the long delays MH is causing you! We actually told them on our letter that we have consulted the OFT and incase they're not willing to resolve the issues between us we won't hesitate to file a complaint. It was actually my wife's idea that we talk to them calmly and resolve the issues as much as possible but i'll rather do the opposite approach. Thank God they've sorted those things up or else ???? The bright side is we made it to this point and we're not far away from our new home so just hang on there! It'll will be over soon.
