Browse Forums Building A New House Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 2Apr 13, 2009 12:56 pm Cosmopolitan have been building homes in Sydney since I built my first home way back... I think their father's handed the business to their sons in the late 90's... they seem to have very good display homes and a good name. We had a look at their new dispays at Spring Farm near Camden and we were very impressed Life is an enjoyment, enjoy it Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 3Apr 13, 2009 8:31 pm Hi billy588 We are actually building with Cosmopolitan @Spring Farm. One of my very best friends living in QLD recommended them when we were looking for a good builder. We are very impressed with what we saw at Spring Farm. We are currently waiting for our land to be registered. We are very impressed with the personalized professional service we have received from them. I have accepted their tender and have moved onto the next stage to draw up offical drawings, do the hydraulics and soil inspection. I have been happy with the process thus far and also that they have been very willing to change their design to suit my needs. Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 6Apr 14, 2009 2:27 pm Their site costs arnt included in base price so they added 30k to the price for a start - the customer rep advised that carpet and tiles are included in base price but wernt. I was excited to build with them until they told me the truth, it was way over my budget and wasted al my time Newbie Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 7May 21, 2009 9:14 am Sales person is excellent and truthful. Tender took a VERY LONG TIME, and building with them has taken even a LONGER time. It hasn't been a pleasant experience. Responses took a long time and it had to go through many channels. Their Houses are great to look at, but dealing with them is unfortunately not that great. Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 9May 21, 2009 10:25 am hi andrew78m unfortunately we haven't started. They were accomodating with changes, but it takes a long time for them to get back to us with costs, sometimes descriptions were incorrect, and then we have to wait again for them to do the costing. We are hoping that when they do start building they will have more care. Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 10May 21, 2009 11:25 am Yes I understand your pain. I am going through the same process at the moment.. But I understand this is not just limited to cosmo, but is an industry wide problem. They find it very difficult to do the costings and it does take a long time to complete.. My advice for now, is try and keep them to a minimum and to do Post contract variations instead. Just get the base right. Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 11May 21, 2009 6:43 pm Doesn't post contract variation cost you? Its really painful for its been a year and a half now. What are you building? We have a small block of land and we are going with the small Renmark. Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 12May 22, 2009 8:18 am I am waiting for a tender at the moment from Cosmo. Going to be interesting what it comes back at... They have been around for a very long time apparently. It's just not possible to get all the details included n the contract because as you know it takes forever, so that's why they're generally done after. It's the Post Building Variations where you get hit with a penalty. So it's important to get your wish-list together & have it all priced, decided on & variations raised, before construction starts. Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 14May 22, 2009 12:36 pm I'm building with Cosmopolitan (well planning to!) - the Rosedale 21. I received the tender back last week (it took 2 weeks & they told me to expect around 3 weeks). I've been very impressed with the customer service to date. Re: has anyone built with cosmopolitan homes 15Jan 06, 2018 12:18 pm Hi... odd question, would anyone have an old floor plan diagram for the Cosmopolitan Renmark? I always loved this home and would love to find something very similar to build. Rebecca Jarrett-Dalton Property crazy expert mortgage broker, love building new homes!
