Hi guys
We have just finished 'bricking-up' to slab level on our new home and will be undertaking all the pre-slab preparation over the next few weeks, including drainage, plumbing, electricals, in-slab hydronics, etc etc.
One area I'm not sure about is: (a) what type of termite protection we need (is it compulsory??); (b) what is the best way to go, without it unnecessarily costing heaps!!; and (c) which of the trades/subbies usually perform this work (e.g. is it part of the responsibility of the guys preparing the slab or would the plumbers/sparkies do their bit? Or is it completely up to me as the owner-builder??)
We are building on a concrete slab ('S' class, i believe) and pretty much the entire house will be double brick, with the exception of about 6 internal timber framed partitions (will be Gyprocked).
There will of course be a number of 'penetrations' in the slab for pipes, conduits etc
If anyone can give me some advice or point me in the right direction of who to speak to, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks muchly in advance,
Adam
