Why can't they paint it? The owners of the garage can't even see the wall yet the OP will have to look at it all the time.
It's technically their side of that part of the fence

It's always a good idea to talk to neighbours about this stuff though....especially if you plan to live there for a while. If it's 150mm or so inside the neighbour's boundary, then put a fence up. My understanding is that's what the 150mm is for....at least that's how it works on my estate. Garages still have fences next to them. Except ours, because we like to be different and moved out crossover so we have our garage up against the neighbour's garage. If all else fails, what about erecting a screen in front of the wall? Or planting a dense row of shrubs? Actually, how offensive can the bricks be? I don't think I've seen any polka-dot bricks lately. the SCRC zero lot is 250mm OMP inside the boundary line. the wall is not part of the boundary but frequently are used as such. A fence can be put up, but the fence can be pulled down to allow maintenance to the wall. I'm not sure about Melly's estate but my estate does not allow two lots to be zero lotted on the same side (ie. two garages together) - although that has happened in stage 2 (twice I think) ’’Quondo Omni Flunkus Mortati ’’ If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
