Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 07, 2009 9:59 am Hello all, I signed my tender in November 2007 and still the house is in bricking stage. It has been a very long time since we dreamt of moving into our new place. It rained quite heavily in Sydney last week and there was again no work on site. I just wanted to know is there anywway (website/resource) from where I can gather rainy days that have occurred during my construction phase? Also, how prudent/rude will it be for me to ask my SS to come to the site and explain me the delays as well as the construction time frames? Do, they share their MS Project Plan with us or is that also "out of bounds"? Re: Construction Delays - Rain Days 2Apr 07, 2009 10:22 am This is the official record we use with contractors on civil projects For example Sydney http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/IDCJD ... test.shtml For precise information go to the map at http://www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw/nsw-o ... -map.shtml Click on the local station...say Bankstown Airport....http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDN60901 ... 4765.shtml click on the Recent Months at Bankstown just above the tables and below the station name. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Construction Delays - Rain Days 3Apr 08, 2009 5:10 pm We signed our contract and had construction loan approved on 16th March and the contraction started on 30th March (two weeks after our loan approval which was better than we expected), the site has been cut and marked, and our ss contact us every Tues to keep updated with the progress and we are told due to the rain and easter, our slab won't be in till Thur 16th April....I don't thinks its rude to ask your ss why the contraction is delay...its your money. But the completion date is delayed by inclimate whether. It is highly likely that the contracted 145 work days will be breached and then there will be haggling on Rain Days etc. The first time I met my SS was yesterday!! Hopefully he will get a message and start to expedite teh work as for me I am going to wait for couple of weeks to get the roof in and then get a Rocket behind them.
