Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 06, 2009 8:27 pm Hi I am building in WA and have paid a deposit almost a month and a half ago. I have just found out that the costs of the house has gone down $2k and there are extra free things being offered with the house. Has anyone had a similar experience and have you been able to get these extra discount added? I haven't signed the contract so I think I am ok. I am still waiting on the builder to get back to me, but I'm just curious to know if the pre-contract I signed makes me inelligible for these extras. The builders previously said that the pre-contract isn't a contract at all and changes can be made. Cheers Re: Extra discounts- am I elligible if the contract isnt signed? 2Apr 06, 2009 9:33 pm hi there, don't know if this helps but - i paid my deposit in early feb, valuatrion fell through on first block, changed estates & signed contract for new block -i am now up to tender stage - about 3 weeks ago my builder introduced a price rise of $3000 to cover new energy efficiency legislation in qld - but they also implemented a $5500 price drop in my area - it still has to be confirmed by head office but i have been advised that as both changes happened at the same time they will have to do one or both for me (eg. they can't give me the price rise but not the price drop - if they did i would spit chips ![]() ![]() 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 I would raise this and get them to suggest a remediation. My personal opinion, while it is not aligned to centre, if you put a toilet roll holder / vanity / toilet brush… 1 11024 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 70899 |
