About to start building in Tarneit gardens and was wondering if there is any broadband internet in the estate?
Thanks
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Tarneit gardens 3Apr 06, 2009 8:47 am We are connected with standard ADSL. That is the best we can get in Tarneit Gardens. The estate is connected to RIMs which then go to the exchange so as far as I am aware ADSL2 is not an option. When we moved in we couldnt even get a copper line as the infrastructure to the estate was not in place. We had to have an interim phone for about 6 months until the estate was connected to the exchange. Re: Tarneit gardens 4Apr 06, 2009 9:17 am Hi Riffa, Thanks for the info. We are going to start building soon. I cant survive without ADSL 2+ , any ideas when that might be available? Well well i shudnt complain .. ADSL is definitely better than nothing ! Building thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15699 Re: Tarneit gardens 5Apr 06, 2009 10:56 am There is a RIM at the front of The Rise which may be available for your connection (currently 51 ports available) http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/viewsuburb.php?Abbrev=TARNT but by the time you are in all the available ports may be gone. I am not an expert in this but I am pretty sure ADSL2 is not available when on a RIM and I doubt Tel$tr@ will ever upgrade the area. The connection from the RIM to your house is a copper line and the RIM is connected to the exchange via optic fibre I think. This means that you are not directly connected to the exchange, so you cannot use the ISP's equipment for ADSL2. Hope this helps. Remember ADSL is much better than dial up! Re: Tarneit gardens 9Apr 30, 2009 9:20 am Hi, Good to know that there is an available ADSL already in the estate. I need it for my work. From the lot I saw in the Hub 2a, there are already sticks/peg markings. so I'm not if re-surveying is still required. Hopefully our land be titled soon. |
