Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 05, 2009 10:59 pm Hey All, After being frustrated with the project builders we are considering getting custom plans drawn up etc and getting our own place built by a custom builder. We have a prelim quote for the diagrams (that we have drawn) which is awesome, however we need to get our own drafting, soil, engineering and 5 star rating reports done. Can anyone provide ball park figures for the following: - Soil Testing & Report - Drafting - Engineering report - 5 Star energy rating report Our builder has a preferred draftsman that they use but just wanted an estimate of what charges would be reasonable for about a 23sq home. We are builiding in northern melbourne suburbs. Cheers. Carlous Re: Pre-Building Cost Advice 2Apr 06, 2009 1:14 pm Carlous May I ask what frustrated you most about the project builders? The rest yellow pages. (shop around) Cheers KW......... “It's just as unpleasant to get more than you bargain for as to get less” George Bernard Shaw. We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
